Mudkip is my favorite water starter because when he evolves he is part ground type, so electric moves (which are super effective against other water types) don't affect him at all.

This a though one for me. I like all water starters though my favorites would probably have to be Empoleon from using it all the time in Pokemon Diamond not to mention it's a steel penguin how can you not like it? I also like Greninja because it just looks so awesome and it was epic during my Pokemon Y Nuzlocke. And Feraligatr since I used it during my first playthrough of any Pokemon game (Pokemon Silver) and it destroyed everything not to mention Totodile was one of my favorite Pokemon in the anime when I still watched it.

I like all the others as well though so it's a though decision for me.
