New Rule: Taking screenshots of characters for a game that someone else has already taken screenshots of for that same game will not count. I've noticed that too many users are starting to take screenshots of characters for games that others have already tagged characters in and in many cases, these screenshots are almost exactly the same as the screenshots previously taken. This has resulted into a lot of duplicate screenshots for a lot of games.

The current results page currently does not reflect this but it will in the near future.

tyranit : What do you mean, MAME games don't play for you? Keep in mind that some are large in file size and may take a while to download.

mourinhosgum : You're saying that there's almost 100 different characters in each of the Mario Advance games? I suppose they count.

Are we limited to three pictures per character, or were you just setting an example and we can have more than three pictures of one character?  Also, can we use movie characters (for example, Simba in The Lion King games), or do you want us to stick with characters that are exclusively in video games, like Mario?

I need some help understanding this character adding stuff.

I have tons of characters right now.. poised and ready to be added to vizzed. However.... let me give you an example of my predicament.

I have taken a snapshot of a character named Alvin. Alvin is a unique character to the game and does not exist in other games. When I go to create a character profile for him, his name already exists for a totally different character that's a part of a franchise. The character profiler will not let me add my Alvin.

The character adder is set such that 2 characters with the same name cannot have the same franchise. Since the Alvin already in the database has no franchise assigned (so it's just displaying their first appearance) and the Alvin you're trying to add also has no franchise, the character adder is seeing you as trying to add Alvin to a franchise (or lack there of in this case) that already has a character named Alvin. Since you're staff, you could probably edit the franchise data for the Alvin already up there and put them under the "Tales" series, and that would let you add the other Alvin.

I think it's a flaw in the character adder. If 2 non-franchised characters have the same name, it should then check the 'first game' entry to see if they really are duplicate characters. . .

madison : oh dear. I might have been thinking of a different character. XD  But I DO know either way... I have dozens of characters I can't enter due to already existing in franchise or first game.  And I can't just create a franchise because most of my characters are unique and for unique games.

I don't know how to delete character pages, but I created three that can probably be gotten rid of. I was using a manual for one of the MAME games to create the profiles, but I noticed after I got into the game, that many of the characters were actually spelled wrong in the manual I found.

The profiles that can be deleted:

Guitacct from Rootin' Tootin'
Guitarct from Rootin' Tootin', 
and
Cymbom6 from Rootin' Tootin'

I spelled those characters the way they were spelled in the game and assigned those profiles (with the correct spellings)  to the screenshots instead.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
