Well for me it was all the way back in Diamond, I think, when I got my DS Lite(which I still have and is still functional, after being dropped at least over 9000 times) with Diamond, for my sixth or seventh birthday.

If I remember correctly the first time I ever played pokemon was a couple of day after pokemon red and blue came out so I would have been 7 years old because they didn't come out till 1999 in England

I think I was 9 or something, but I loved playing pokemon emerald. My friends had been playing Diamond and pearl on their DS's. At the time I didn't have a hand held and the only video game devise I had was a playstaion 2. I brought a Gameboy advance sp (because I couldn't afford a DS with my own money) on Amazon.co.uk for £30 in a bundle with a GBC game and emerald. The feeling was great having my own console in my hands, playing a totally new game. Since the I brought Fire Red, Gold, Ruby, Platinum (with my DSI), Soul silver then I got bored and lost the feeling with pokemon Black. Now I hardly Play it or any pokemon games. But I still Hack it using advanced map.

When I was 5 that is when I just started to play Pokémon. I wasn't quite fond of the show, and in fact I used to always go around telling people I didn't watch that lame show. Yes it honestly was pretty lame to me back them. That is when my brother introduced me to Pokémon games. I don't know how he did it but he did. He finally started to own his own Pokémon games.
