It really depends what the item is and who it is. I guess I don't do it very often because people don't ask that of me.

If I'm sharing books, CDs or videogames with my best friends, for example, then I have no issue with it. Even if I don't get the stuff back (or GIVE the stuff back, if it's the reverse) for a long time I know they wouldn't steal it from me.

However, if it was personal items like clothes, makeup, etc. I would be reluctant to lend it because I don't have an excess of those things and I can't go very long without certain things. Plus if they broke it I'd be upset because it's hard to replace.

There's only a few things i ever let anybody borrow. It's hard for to let anyone lend my stuff. I learned the hard way by not getting some things i borrowed out back. One thing was money. I must of gave up to $200 to people and only seen about half of it back. I've let people borrow video games before and controllers. Those were the only things i really seen get back. I've let people borrow my shirts and pants before. Never seen those again. So i choose not to let anyone borrow my stuff anymore unless it's my family. It's hard to trust people. Therefore i really don't let anyone use my stuff anymore.

Only family members. I don't trust anyone outside of a business perspective, ie. paying someone to fix my car. Once I let someone that I cared for in a relationship way borrow my car, she didn't take off the emergency break and drove back with smoke pouring from my car.

I share freely. Anyone can use my things anytime they want to. Whatever. Just give it back when you're ready.

Sometimes, but not often. Depends on the person. I don't let them borrow it if I can't trust them.

Sometimes...but not very often. The last time I let somebody borrow my DS game he lost it.

I do but only my family mostly, and my closest friends. I am not usually very trusting, but I have borrowed things to people I barely knew but we were both gamers, and he seemed like a pretty straight dude. We both ended up trying some games. I have taken a risk on another occasion as well, thankfully my instincts weren't wrong that time. But anyways, I usually don't not unless I really know the person.

I'm too nice, I let people borrow stuff all the time. I get it all back, though not always in the shape it was when it left my possession.

Indeed sometimes i let people use and borrow my stuff too much and then either don't get it back or it comes back destroyed.

Not really because many people are cheap and if it breaks, they expect YOU to buy a new one. And later on, they may ask again.

Never again. With the exception of Annette, I'm not letting anyone borrow anything. I have so many games that friends have either lost, sold, forgot that it's mine and convinced it's theirs, we're not friends anymore, etc. For example, I let my former friend borrow my final fantasy seven and strategy guide, as he had never played it before. He lived a block away from me. Instead of just coming over any day to give it back, he let it get packed up and misplaced when he moved away without telling me until after he moved. Now it's worth over a hundred bucks here for just the FF7 discs, no case, no booklet, and I had a mint game with book and guide. I also lost Legend of Dragoon to another friend who moved away suddenly, and then we he came to visit he had convinced himself the game was his, for some reason, so I went and bought a new one, back when they were still available to buy. Talking about this is getting me all depressed since all the games I lost to borrowers are now irreplaceable

Sometimes. It depends on WHAT I'm letting them borrow, and WHO I'm lending to. If it's someone I trust taking like a CD or video game, I'll usually let them borrow it. I'd never let anyone borrow something big though, like my iPod or laptop. =| I'd be too paranoid.

Like what Tabbikatt said I only will let them borrow minor thing that don't matter to me much.

I've let friends borrow pens and pencils. But I never got them back. So I'm probably not lending many things to people in the future.
