*whimpers* The only non-storyline shiny I've ever seen was a shiny Zubat while I was walking to Azalea town to get my custom PokeBalls from Kurt. And I had no PokeBalls on me. T.T I had to kill it.

I have caught two shiny Pokemon before. My first one was actually on a friend's game. I was playing it looking for a certain Pokemon because I couldn't get to that area yet. And I found a shiny Zubat. I was so surprised. Especially since I had played for years and never seen one before that. That was on Pokemon Pearl. My second one was on SoulSilver. I found a shiny Kakuna within 30 minutes of playing the game. It was amazing.

My shinies are on my page but may as well tell you, some are random  and some are hunted.

My shinies that i found and are alive: My chansey that had a 3.9% chansey (get it) of getting caught that is now a Blissey.
Magnemite is one of my hunted and only hunted shiny I got in gen 4. It is now a magnezone.
My pichu that is a raichu now, it's my only shiny not in gen 4.

My shinies that are dead (yes life is like a rocky dude punching you and thats a clue!): Geodude no.1 It WAS a golem until one day I evolved my eevee  to a espion a decided to put it into the pokewalker and switched off to fast when saving.
Geodude no.2 Lucky I couldn't save the data but i encountered it before you got pokeballs.

In Pokemon Heart Gold, I found a random Shiny Ghastly just by chance. And I did manage to catch it. HOWEVER, I do have a cheat on my DS that lets me view pokemon's IV and EV's. And I was shocked to see that all the IV's of the Shiny ghastly were 5 or below out of 31 (There were like, 3 0's) Needless to say, I sort of Action Replayed another Shiny Ghastly in, and that one had at least average IV's.
