Super Mario World: Advanced Edition   Uzar
Once upon a time, when Gameboys were cool and we were okay with wired controllers. There existed a madman in a lofty building only known by it's locals as...Nintendo. There he and his fellow workers made video games. But, he had a idea: "How about we port some SNES games onto the Gameboy Advance?" And so began a trend of re-releasing classic games for new generations to enjoy. Lady, gentlemen, galoombas and koopas. Prepare once again for...SUPER MARIO WORLD!
Graphics: 8/10
This game defintely has better graphics compared to the original. They repolished/reused other sprites to use in this game. It's not the very best the GBA has to offer, but it certainly is one of the top 10 best looking games for it. Mario looks great, Luigi looks even better now that he's no longer just a color swapped Mario, and the enemies all retain their unique and memorable looks. The backgrounds look pretty much the same as the SNES. At times they might be brighter, but it doesn't make that much of a difference in my opinion.
Sound: 9/10
The music is pretty good. But, it's all taken right from the original, don't expect anything new. Thankfully thatgame had some pretty rockin' music to it. It's very memorable, and (mostly) fits the stages you play. The sound effects are the same as well. But there's nothing more satisfying than to hear the thud of hitting a Chargin' Chuck, or the indescribable noise of hitting a Koopa shell into other baddies. But there is one thing in this department it has over the original. And that is, Mario and Luigi talk, and have their own sound effects. If you die, they'll yell "Aww, Mama Mia!" if you grab a powerup they'll say "Just what I needed!". I don't exactly remember any others, but it's still a nice touch.
Addictiveness: 8/10
It's definitely more addictive than the SNES version for sure. Mainly because this is portable compared to the wired down SNES. But, besides that, it's as addictive as the original. Same great level design, same platforming action, and all the same zany fun you'd expect from a game such as Super Mario World.
Story: 4/10
What did you expect? Well, it all began long ago...Mario and Luigi and the Princess took a balloon trip to Dinosaur World. Princess Toadstool, er, Peach got herself kidnapped by the Koopas. A koopa sumo breaks the ground, Luigi fell for hours. Good thing he found a magic balloon. At the bottom of the pit he found a Yoshi egg, then it kept calling him "Mama Luigi" and...Wait, this is the wrong story!
Mario, Luigi, and Peach went to Dinosaur World. Bowser and the Koopa Kids Koopalings capture her. They gotta find her, and YOU gotta help!
Depth: 7/10
This is a pretty deep game. I mean, the sheer number ov levels alone still stands up to today's games. Then, each level is HUGE! Especially obvious when you have the Cape and you can soar into the sky. Mostly it's just the background, and a bunch of blank, but you're sure to find a secret platform, crescent moon (10 up!), or even a key for a secret exit. Then, some levels have secret exits, alternate paths, shortcuts on the map, and even passageways to secret worlds! Well, one really, but there's a secret way to a secret world INSIDE that secret world! And it's easy enough to go through the game without even seeing it the first time around. I'll admit, I haven't even found all the secrets yet. But I know they're out there. Super Mario World, you confusing enigma of a game you...
Difficulty: 6/10
This game isn't TOO hard. Some of the later levels are certainly difficult, however. There's actually a lot of pretty tough levels in this game. The controls on the other hand are actually really easy. And smooth too. But that's really all that can be said. It has a smoother control scheme, at the cost of two buttons. (RIP in Pepperoni: X and Y. Never to be seen until 3DS)
SMW is, and probably will always be known as "One of the Greats". Whether you prefer the SNES, or the GBA makes no real difference. A few things I haven't touched up on though. Luigi actually works differently than Mario. He jumps higher, flys slower, can make Yoshi hold enemies in his mouth, and hitting a coin block makes all it's coins fall out at once. So after a normal Mario playthrough, you can go again as Luigi and have a totally different experience. :)
It's a fantastic game. One of the better remakes Nintendo has done. It's just what you would expect, all of the original, with only a few minor changes.

Super Mario World....For on to-go   IgorBird122
This game right here, you can pretty much play Super Mario World on to-go. The game is a re-make of the SNES version with a lot of extra features added into the game which makes this gave very interesting game to play on the GBA.
The Graphics:
The graphic are pretty much the same as you see in the SNES version, the character's, enemies, and Bosses all look like they have in the SNES version, except it's a little bleached out, but for a handheld game, that is pretty alright. Yeah, for an handheld game, the graphics ain't all that bad, in fact, I remember playing this on the GBA and the graphics on that are very outstanding.
----------
The Sound/Music:
The sound and the music and much hasn't really all changed from the SNES version, although some of the music in the game does sound a little more sharper, but for the GBA, that is alright.
Also, you now have voices for Mario and Luigi (mostly when you get a power-up or die).
----------
The Addictiveness:
The Addiction level if pretty high, mostly if you happen to own a Game Boy Advance and then this game and a great addiction level.
Since you can be able to play more after you get 100% on the game, you can keep on playing just for fun
----------
The Story:
The Story with this game is similar to the SNES version. Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach travels to Dinosaur Island where Bowser yet again kidnaps Peach and with help with Yoshi, Mario and Luigi travel through the whole land to get to Bowser and save the Princess once again. While they travel through each land, they encounter all sorts of enemies and obstacles.
----------
The Depth:
They're more depth in this version that they were in the SNES version, mostly once you defeat the game, instead of the game ending and you got to turn it off, you can continue and go back and get everything you've missed, not just that, but you also got a lot more, like more interesting levels you can complete, or just do some levels just for fun, it's really thy player's choice. You also got 96 different exits you can choose from in this game and each level got some bonuses in them which really give a lot for the player to experience with.
----------
The Difficulty:
The Difficulty of this game hasn't really changed from the SNES version, the difficulty in this game is really tough, but not too tough, once you know on how to play this game, you'll be pretty good at it and it won't be that tough that if you first play it.
Some parts of the game is very difficult and other parts are very easy, so it really depends on how you play the level.
----------
Overall:
Overall, this game is pretty fun. If you happen to own a Game Boy Advance, this game is very recommended, but even if you done, this game is pretty alright to play if you prefer more features than better quality. For me, it really doesn't matter, Super Mario World is a very great game to play, no matter on the version you play it on.

Mario? Why, yes!   Spacey Sul
Mario? Why, how fun!
Hello again guys, it's SadSecrets here, once again reviewing a game!
Let us indulge this review, now!
Ah Mario, possibly the most popular game series to ever be created. It's the usual story: Princess Toadstool(AKA: Peach) is once again kidnapped by Bowser, the fire-breathing spike-back turtle/Koopa. Mario must save her, along with his younger brother Luigi.(Seeing as Luigi is taller, I would've thought he was the older brother... But ya know... It's Nintendo, when does Nintendo ever make sense?) in this game, it seems you have two choices of game: Super Mario World, and Mario Bros.(I love this feature, it's pretty darn cool) Before I get into the nonsense of my rambles, let us check out the usual things, starting from least to greatest this go round: Depth, Story, Difficulty, Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness.
STARTING OFF WITH DEPTH: Depth, something I really don't see in Mario games. There's so many questions I want answered, but never seem to get answered: Why does Bowser want Peach? Why does a PLUMBER always have to save her? Why does Peach allow this to happen? So on, So forth. I personally believe they could add some more Depth into the whole thing, it would make the story much, much better.( You have to agree, Depth gives Story PIZZAZZ.) So Depth, you earn the weak number of five.
SPEAKING Of STORY: Now, we move onto the Story. The Story is basically the same: Peach gets kidnapped, Mario saves her after going through a whole army and a tower of rage.(like Pokemon if you ask me, with Enemies, Tower(Cave) Of Rage, and a repeating Story. Geez, Nintendo, you need more originality.) It usually starts off different though, so it improves the story. Like with Depth, I wish they would add more onto it.(Example that involves Sega: Sonic. Sonic has a changing story, but stays with the usual gist: Defeat Eggman. If Nintendo could do that, it would definitely make their games more interesting to us Americans, right?)
TO ZE DIFFICULTY: Not very difficult, as Mario games go. It does have its hard parts.(Good god... That 2nd level of Super Mario World.. I HATE IT! I don't do well with jumps, so that is frustrating. IT'S LIKE, a JUMP-BASED LEVEL! ARGH.) But usually, to me at least, it seems to stay pretty simple. Like earlier, there are its hard parts.(2nd World, Annoying towers... Ya know, the usual rage things.) So difficulty, you earn the number eight!
GRAPHICS? WHY THANK YOU: Ah Graphics, how I am a stickler for graphics. For a early Mario game, the Graphics are pretty beast. I mean, it isn't all pixel looking in the level(It looks pixel-like to me on the map.) The colors are a nice blend. The graphics leave me... Typeless!(Bad puns, I know.) So Graphics earns a nine!(Just because of the Pixel map: Like I said, STICKLER!)
SOUND, I LOVE SOUND.. UNLESS IT'S BAD SOUND: The sound is pretty good, like the Graphics. I always find the song they play in Mario catchy, just because I love music like that. And they made good sounds for when you hit the Koopa Troopas, Dinosaurs, and Yoshi! Like the other reviews though, I sort-of get annoyed by the repetitiveness of the music. Like many others think, A sound track would be absolutely amazing! So Sound, have yourself a nine!
AND OUR FINAL CONTESTANT IS... ADDICTIVENESS!: As many Nintendo games do to me, Mario just easily gets me addicted to it.(I think it's because Mario was the second game I ever played..) Even though the story is basically the same, I just get hooked in five seconds flat! I love the usage of Feathers and Yoshi, the Dinosaurs... Man, you don't see Feathers much in the recent Mario games, now do you?! It adds onto the addictiveness of it all, sucking me into the endless portal of Mario love.
SO ALL IN ALL... I GIVE THIS GAME A SOLID Nine.Four! I love this game! End of story!
See you guys the next time I decide to lurk on the Game Reviews! Bye!

Just so epic...   williamb970
One of the best games, not even sonic can change that, I have to rate this a ten because, well, this is trying to be quite long so people will actually read my stuff, so the graphics are well known all over the Internet, and the world, since this is super Mario world nothing can go wrong, or can it?
The first downer is bowser kidnaps the princess and takes her to his castle, Mario goes and saves her, but the thing is, dinosaur land, Luigi, better boss fights, so I have to give that a ^7^. Now the difficulty, ^7^ again, not too hard, not too easy, starts off very easy, but when you progress, bowser starts to get angry, think, you have destroyed his army quite a lot, not to mention you kicked his butt in golf.
The sound? The music just completely messed up my brain with epicness, some got boring, (Hate those water levels!) Bowser battle is epic.
Addictive, yes, un addictive, no. ^9^
Com on, its super Mario, cheer up!
I remember when I was a kid, when something made me sad, I played Mario! Not kidding! When sonic X died out when I was older, I played Mario! Now up to 15, these games all cheer me up and I have became addicted, Screaming for Maoris death? Yes. Screaming for Sonics death? No, though the fact that I grew up with sonic, now he just became stupid since sonic 06, you all agree, right?
Depth, did you call me deaf? Check out my review on sound. ^10^
The game is massive, about 50 levels, but there is more, there are secrets and warps and all, but there are thousands of ways for people who don't like deep games, etc. Star road, jumping off a cliff, so on.
   <^^^>
<^BUT!^>  OH NO! Oh wait, its not bad, its good, Mario/Luigi  jumped off the cliff.
Overall 10, there are just some thing that makes me rate this a ten instead of a nine. Something, maybe the force! AHH WERE ALL GONNA DIE!

Super Mario Advance 2 - Super Mario World   supercool22
Super Mario Advanced 2 - Super Mario World : Game Review
Release Date : 2002
System : Game Boy Advanced
Developer : Nintendo Co.
What i know about this game ?
Super Mario Advanced 2 - Super Mario World is a awesome game made in 2002 and successful was developed by Nintendo Co. . This game is better than all of the Super Mario World games ever made , you get to play as Mario and Luigi ( i believe theirs a two player mode ) and you have to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser by beating every level to try to get to his Castle .
Overall : 10
Well Super Mario Advanced 2 - Super Mario World is a freaking awesome game ( its not better than Super Mario 64 ) . Personally i have never beaten the game because this game is hard but i could beat the game just not now .
Graphics : 9
The graphics in this game are great , no not great , awesome , it has better graphics than all of the mario games ever made for the Game Boy Advanced and even the previous mario games made before Super Advanced 2 came out ( 2002 ) .
Sound : 9
Here is what i think of the sounds ( or Music ) , the music is great and very original , not like a remake of the old Mario Music from Super Mario Bros. because everyone knows that the original music is a lot better , but the music is great . :D
Addictiveness : 9
This game is addictive from time to time but the reason why i rated addictiveness a 9 is because it is very addictive most of the time but i could play Super Mario Advanced 2 - Super Mario World all day , everyday but i don't actually do that because you should never play a game for that long .
Story : 9
The story is very long i believe , you have to save princess peach from Bowser because she was taken by him like always and you got to get through all level on this island ( which i forgot the name ) and defeat a lot of your enemies . Well that all i know about the story right know .
Depth : 8
Well like always the game offers the same thing like all mario does , Defeat enemies koopa's , goomba's etc . , go through levels , try to get to Bowser and defeat him then you rescue princess peach , but it offers a lot anyway so thats what make this game better .
Difficulty : 7
If you been playing Super Mario Advanced 2 for years this game is pretty much easy since you know a lot secrets to the game and ways to beat the game , if not then its really hard to beat and since i haven't play this game for years ( 5 years ago ) so its really hard .
Well thats all i got to say for this game which is really great and i hope you like my review . :D

Super Mario World Review (GBA)   patar4097
Super Mario World was, I believe, the best selling video game ever, at the time it came out. This is that same game, ported to the GBA, with improved music, a different sprite and different movements for Luigi, compared to  Mario. There is also voice acting, and plenty more. Plus, Luigi is no longer a second player only option.
Graphics  -  9
This game was definitely an improvement over the last games. Not only more depth in the backgrounds, but a brighter and more colorful world than before. This version, however, is slightly brighter than the original, which not every body liked.
Sound  -  10
The music, the sound effects, and like I stated earlier, the voice acting, were just phenomenal. All the music was good, and could be listened to for a long time, without it getting annoying. All the sound effects were perfect. Even jumping on the springs sounded good. The voices make the game that much better, when Mario cries out "Mama Mia!" if he dies. And something not every body knows, when you are on Yoshi, there is a bongo sound added to the in level music.
Addictiveness/ Depth  -  9.5
This game is very big. I think 94-96 different level exits. Some having two exits, which are marked by a red dot. With all the Yoshi coins to get, and so many levels to get them from, you will find it hard to stop. This game will take weeks to complete it one hundred percent (without excessive gameplay), and you will enjoy every minute of it.
Story  -  5
Bowser steals Peach when Mario and Luigi aren't looking. Same old story. Moving on.
Difficulty  -  7
This game is hard at times, but it is very easy to get 999 lives, so really you should be fine. There are lots of secrets that will be very hard to uncover, so it may be tough to find some hidden secrets.
Overall  -  10
This is my favorite game ever. It is so big, and just the most fun I ever had playing a video game. I have beaten it many times, but it still never gets boring. You should, if you like platform games, or any kind of retro games for that matter, play this game.

The best (almost)   levelol10
The game is really good so I HAVE to give it a 10, but the graphics could be better. The music and how fun the game is, I would of rated 99,999,999,999,999,999 but hey, I only can go up to 10 :(. The story is the same from a lot of the Mario games: Save the princess. The game is really large because it has 2 games: Super Mario World and Mario Bros. , and since those games offer a lot, I give it a ten. This game is kind of hard because has 2 games (like I said before) in 1 Game. This game is probably the best on the system! Let me use my chocolate calculator to ad up it's score. And it's score is... 60/70!! That's really good for 1 32-bit game :3. If you like this game, you will LOVE 45-in-1!! It has an 8-bit Super Mario world parody, Super Mario Bros. , and 43 more.

A classic reborn.   RedHotToddy
In 1991,Nintendo released the snes  to compete with Sega's Sega genesis. One of the launch titles for the super Nintendo was super Mario world
which is considered by many many fans and critics to be the greatest Mario game ever, just then 11 years later, the game was ported to the GBA.
But does this version still hold up much as the snes version?
Story-5/10
Ok I'll admit it,the story has been done to death, peach gets kidnapped by bowser, same old.same old,but now on the go!
Gameplay-8/10
The gameplay is pretty much the same as the first game, but now in real color, and there are more power ups.such as a cape, which can be used to fly
really really high in the air,it's useful for shortcuts. And guess what? This game is the debut appearance of yoshi! Mario's friend dino, who can be rode
on for some special purposes.Did i also mention you get to play as luigi in this game?
Graphics-9/10
Even for the gba the graphics are simply put AMAZING! The sprites, everything,The backgrounds look oh so beautiful, plus mario's sprite in this game has been used for flash games, flash movies, etc.
Sound-9/10
Even after 11 years, the sound is still top-notch from the sound effects to the BGM,its pretty catchy.
Addictiveness-8/10
How can mario not be addicting? The game is still fun even after all this time. Don't you think?
Depth-9/10
Um,why would'nt there be a reason to play this game again? Ok maybe because original mario bros, but still, theres a lot of yoshi coins extra levels and
such that will keep you glued to this game for the rest of eternity.
Difficulty-6/10
Ok,this game is essentially easy but some parts can be hard! i:e thefirst boss, but its a cakewalk to play.
Overall-8.8/10
Super mario bros is what started it all for platforming games, goombas, question blocks, coins, everything,so if you don't have any mario games in your
gba collection,go buy this one, heck, buy classic nes series super mario bros for the gba,the latter is the same thing but on gba! Anyways, thats it for this review.

ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   GAMEGEEK101
I was about four or five years old when I first played this game, and ever since then ive thought of it as one of the best games ever. The basic concept of the game is peach got captured by bowser (again), mario and luigi have to save her, and you jump on evil turtles heads (and other creatures). As you go along the world you kill koopas, boos, piranha plants, etc., destroy mini castles, rescue yoshis trap inside eggs, kill bowser, rescue peach, watch the credits, and do it again because it is fun. if Nintendo remade it for the DS that would be awesome because it is hard to play games on a computer. this game has several dozen epic levels which makes it take a long time to beat the game. some of the only games that can beat it is halo, super smash bros. (any), kingdom hearts, minecraft, fable, some kirby games, and all of the new and awesome animated mario and sonic games. for me this game is the 2nd best mario game on vizzed board (2nd to super mario 64). if you are a huge fan of mario i VERY HIGHLY suggest you play this game because it is awesome in every way but graphics, because its for a gameboy. So stop reading and start playing!!! Try to get 1000000 points, if the game lets you get that high of a score!

Super Mario World Super Mario Advanced 2   marcus047
Game Background: This game is a classic remake of the popular NES title Super Mario World. The game was developed and published by Nintendo, and was released in 2002. The game goes Bowser is at it again, Mario, Luigi, princess Peach and princess Toadstool(looks alot like princess Daisy), are picnicking in the mushroom kingdom, but Mario and Luigi leave the Princesses unattended to soar/glide around the mushroom kingdom, but when they return princess Peach is missing and its up to Mario and Luigi to save her! In this game you can either play as Mario or Luigi to complete stages, and there are top secret areas as well as a secret star road.
Graphics:The graphics for this game goes above and beyond what you would expect from a Mario game. The Bosses and level/stage layout is excellent with its graphics and designs, going into perfect visual effects and description. The color scheme and colorization for Mario,Luigi and bosses as well as the minions are perfect with no discoloration or abnormalities. It does give/does the Game Boy Advanced some justice because for a GBA game the graphics are just outstanding. So for Graphics I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Sound: The in game sound has a different soundtrack/song for each stage and world as well as in each castle. The sound acoustics and base are all in perfect pitch and can be clearly understood and heard. The characters do speak at points in the game(basically when ever a boss or Mario/Luigi dies) and you can easily make out what they say" ohhh momma me yah"for Mario and that's the only example I'll provide. So for Sound I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Addictiveness: This game is highly addictive because of its huge diverse open worlds/stages, its top secret areas that are incredibly difficult to unlock/find and quite frankly beating the game completely(100%) takes alot of long dedicated hours and using "speed bar "really doesn't help you much in this game, which only makes you more likely to keep playing for long hours without stopping or breaks. I literally remember playing the cartilage of this on my Game Boy advanced SP for hours upon end. So for Addictiveness I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Story: The story is the same as any other Mario game, Princess Peach has been kidnapped by Bowser and it's up to Mario and Luigi to get her back, but this game offers something new to the franchise, different colored yoshi's,(Green,Blue,Red,Yellow), there is also a new power item introduced in this called cape it looks like a feather and gives Mario/Luigi the power to glide and fly it looks like this .The game offers also an all new never before seen Mario adventure/world.So for story I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Depth:The game is huge, between its top secret areas, one of which that lets you choose your main power item, sub/backup power item, Yoshi and if you keep going back to it you will get eventually 999 lives. The game has another top secrete path/ area in it called star road and special which has its own levels completely set aside from main world play, to unlock these special areas on some levels you will find key's hidden some where and bring them to there key holes. So between beating the main levels as well as finding and beating the top secrete area levels, this game has an estimated game play time at about anywhere from 5-7 weeks. So for depth I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Difficulty: well the game isn't that difficult, the A.I. Does a sequence of attacks in the same order each time which isn't very hard to figure out a hole in the bosses plan of attack. So for Difficulty I gave this game a 8 out of 10.
Overall: Overall I gave this game a 9.8 out of 10, because this game does offer something new and a reason to keep playing, but it fails to produce a harder challenge, and change up the story/plot.

Right now, all I can say is that I love this game, and I could seriously play for hours. This game used to be so popular when I was growing up. Well, not used to. It still is.
I will never become tired of this game. The graphics, the music-- oh, the music. I would get the theme music stuck in my brain
all of the time. This game will live on forever. I don't think any new game will ever come close to beating classics like these ever.
I can honestly say that I'm going to be playing this game for a long time.

Awesome Game!!!!!!   IncredibleLuigi
A very fun game yet addicting. I could  just remember 1993-2002. But still its a good game. This is one of the best game boy games I have ever played so far. The only problems are, The sound is off sometimes, the design slows or freezes, and last boss, but its solved already.Rate 9.8. I'm rating this much cause these problems occurred, 1. Save/load at wrong time. 2. Controls and I know how to change it. 3. Boss battles. And 4. Sometimes yoshi probably just should not run fast when hes attacked. But everything else, well mostly, this is the best game I played.

Remake of a Mario Classic   luigi25

Super Mario Advance 2 is a remake of a classic Mario game. It is the Gameboy Advance remake of the popular game Super Mario World. This was the second (technically third if you count SMB Deluxe) of the classic NES/SNES Mario games ported to the handheld GBA. Mario Advance 2 is a port of my favorite childhood game Super Mario World originally for the SNES in 1991. This version was released almost a decade after I got that game for Christmas in 1993. Advance 2 came out in the early part of 2002, and I never played the handheld remake until around the beginning of 2014. Overall, I don't enjoy this port as much, but I guess you'd could say I feel that way about all the remakes, ports, and ROM hacks of the Mario games from the past.

Graphics 8/10: The original Super Mario World on SNES was a great looking game. The backgrounds and sprites looked better than those of the best NES Mario games like Super Mario Bros. 3. That's saying quite a lot for the Nintendo games of the early 90s. The GBA tries to recreate this game, but it doesn't look as good in this version mainly due to screen crunch. The colors aren't that impressive either. I'm sure a lot of this had to do with hardware conflicts or something, but Advance 2 isn't as good looking of a game as Mario World. It still looks decent but not as colorful or full of life as the original.

Music 6/10: Super Mario Advance 2 suffers from the same problems that Advance 1 had. The music is the same as the original without many new songs. Not only that, but tracks don't sound good in the GBA version. Everything is just dumbed down in this port with a very weak sound to it. This game doesn't sound completely awful or anything, but it is a very dull soundtrack and kind of a poor recreation of something that was pretty good originally.

Gameplay 10/10: The objective of Super Mario Advance 2 is to get to the goal of each level before time runs out. Like in SMW, Mario has help from Yoshi. Yoshi can eat a lot of the enemies in Mario's path and clear the way for him to make it to the goal without taking damage. He also can pick up items such as: the Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Cape. This game also contains an overworld map that is part of a main map of Dinosaur Land. The maps are the same for this game and include Ghost Houses, Fortresses, and Castles. This is basically the same game as Super Mario World with the same gameplay elements and levels that include secret exits which lead to other parts of Dinosaur Land.

One of the cool things about the Advance version is that Mario is not alone in his quest to rescue Princess Peach and Yoshi's friends. He is joined by his younger brother Luigi. The player can choose to play a level as Mario or Luigi in this version by hitting the R button on any overworld map. Hitting the Select button on the map will also bring up a score sheet. On this score sheet is a list of all the worlds of the game and their individual levels. Your status for the individual levels is shown on this sheet including whether or not you have collected the Dragon Coins on these levels. Collecting the Dragon Coins in this version is necessary for completing the game 100%, and so is finding all 96 exits.

This remake is pretty cool in the way it has a status screen and gives players the option of finding the Dragon Coins on each level. In SMW, the Dragon Coins didn't amount to anything, and I guess they don't here either. Although, finding all of them will give players a nice cutscene and so will finding all 96 exits which I also like. I didn't find the controls to be as slippery in the second Mario Advance game like they were before, but the visibility was still an issue. The stages are unfortunately the same, but playing as Mario and Luigi and going for the Coins made it just as interesting as before.

Super Mario Advance 2 (and all the SMA games) contain the 1983 arcade game Mario Bros. This is a sub-game where Mario hits enemies from underneath the floor and kicks them off the screen. Killing the enemies gives you points, and after earning a certain number of points, you move to the next level. Some players will like this game, but I never got into it that much.

For me, Super Mario Advance 2 is basically just a port of Super Mario World with the extra option of collecting the Dragon Coins in every level and playing as Mario and Luigi. SMW was a very fun game to play because of the new items like the Cape and Yoshi and all the different areas of the game that could be explored. Advance 2 feels like it is just the same as Mario World with some additional gameplay elements that make it a good of a game as the original. Sure, the graphics and sound may not be as good, but it still plays pretty much like the same SMW from my childhood.

Story 9/10: The story of Super Mario Advance 2 is the same as in Super Mario World. Mario, Luigi, and the Princess go on a vacation to Dinosaur Land. When Mario and Luigi go for a walk, they come back to find the Princess missing again. When they go to look for her, they stumble upon an egg and out pops Yoshi. He tells them the tale of how his friends were kidnapped by giant turtles. It doesn't take long to for the Mario Bros. to figure out what happened to the Princess. Bowser has invaded Dinosaur Land, and him and his Koopalings have kidnapped Princess Peach and Yoshi's friends. It is up to Mario and Luigi to get them back and restore peace to Dinosaur Land.

The story of SMW/SMA2 takes place in a different setting. It takes Mario and Luigi on a quest similar to that of SMB3 but in Dinosaur Land. There is an opening scene that explains the story of the game in more detail for this version. That is one improvement over the SMB1 and SMB2 remakes, and this would be something that would be done for the rest of the GBA ports. The storyline for SMW was, however too much like Super Mario Bros. 3, and that's what isn't so original about it. The setting is different, but there are too many similarities. I have mixed feelings about this plot, but I guess it is still a nice one. They even did a cartoon based on it too.

Content 10/10: Super Mario Advance 2 consists of the same worlds as before: Yoshi's Island, Donut Plains, the Vanilla Dome, Cookie Mountain, the Forest of Illusion, Chocolate Island, the Valley of Bowser, Star World, and Special World. Super Mario World on its own was a decent sized game that took close to 3 and 1/2 hours to beat. If you're just playing the regular worlds, minus Star World and Special World, it doesn't take as long. Those areas are optional and aren't necessary for completing the game.

The Dragon Coins aren't necessary either, but they are if you're trying to get 100%. They are strictly optional, and that is good because this can be a very difficult and time consuming task. If you die on a level, you have to go back and collect them again. Also, on the Fortresses and Castles, you can't go back to them until you beat the regular game. If you hit a checkpoint with 2 or 3 of the coins and lose a life, you don't get to keep any of the coins, and you'll have to beat the level, then replay it again in order to collect all 5! I forgot to mention earlier how much of a pain in the @#* these things can be to collect!

The Mario Bros. portion is also clearly optional and doesn't have to be played. This can be another extra game that is very difficult and time consuming. I usually play the regular Super Mario World with Mario and Luigi and go for the Dragon Coins. Doing this isn't any much more than what it was in the original game. The GBA version doesn't offer much to it that is any different than before. Both games give players enough to keep them busy for some time.

Difficulty 4/10: The original Super Mario World was a pretty easy game. Not every level had to be played. The Feather item is the item that gives Mario and Luigi the Cape. The Cape can be used to slow your landings when you are crossing large bottomless pits. This makes the jumping a lot easier. You can take more damage in this game as well as get more extra lives and checkpoints. The controls aren't as much of a problem this time around, but the camera is still too zoomed in making it harder to avoid enemies and bottomless pits. There are a lot more blind jumps than what there were in the SNES version.

That's why the SNES version is still the better choice, but the GBA isn't that bad either. I can say it is still a pretty easy game. It is insane how many lives, save options, checkpoints, health, etc. that Mario and Luigi get. There is some slipperiness to the control but not like in Advance 1, and even in that game it wasn't anything I couldn't get used to. This version is slightly harder than the original but nothing all that terrible.

Overall 8.6/10: To end things, Super Mario Advance 2 isn't near as good of a game as Super Mario World. This is mainly due to the limitations Nintendo had porting a SNES game over to a handheld console. Sometimes these games would look and sound better on the GBA and other times they wouldn't. The gameplay is about the same as well as the other parts of the game. I still think this is a good game, but when compared to the game I grew up with, it doesn't have the same look and sound to it that that game had.

Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World   Mobouis1
Super Mario Advance 2 is the remake of Super Mario World for the snes. Everything else is the same except you could as Mario and Luigi. So the game will sorta easier with Luigi. Now on to the review.
Graphics: 10 The graphics is still the same, but still amazing to for a GBA game. You also can tell from the graphics it is your childhood game.
Sound: 10 The sound is still the same including the music. So if play the original you should know most of the music in it.
Addictiveness: 10 The game is still addicting as ever. You will be playing this game for a long time to discover every secret in the game, or just to have fun kill some koopa or goomba.
Story: 5 Same old story. The princess got kidnapped by browser now it up to Mario and Luigi to rescue her.
Depth: 10 The game offer a lot with the levels, because the game have so much secrets in the game. They still have the item that make you fly .
Difficulty: 7 The game is easy, but there are some levels that give you hard time like browser castle, or the second level in the special world.
Overall I give the game a 10 because it is so fun to play and it a good remake of the original one. I have fun playing this, and nobody shouldn't have to miss out on this game. End of Review.

Super Mario World is easily one of the best Mario games that Nintendo has came out with in a while, I prefer to play it over any of the recent Mario games to date simply because this was an all new story that didn't seem as repetitive as one would think when they think of a  Mario game. The Yoshi's are and can be four colors, either green, yellow, blue or red but you have to unlock them on secret levels in a place called star road, using keys and key holes you come across on certain levels in certain worlds.Overall this was Nintendo's best Mario game for the Game Boy, it was fun to play, animations were to satisfactory. The graphics could have been better Mario's face could be made out but not much detail was put into it.The sound, the games music track did get a little repetitive when you were actually playing through the stages, but when you were at the screen moving along the map shifting throughout the worlds the music was distinctive and unique to each world. I was addicted to the game for a short while, it did entertain me and occupies your attention for a while and yes I am likely to came back to play the game again, especially since it also has the classic Mario Bros game on it, you know the one from the arcade. The story did improve some from what I've seen from other games in the franchise but ultimately it is all the same Peach gets kidnapped by Bowser and Mario and Luigi must save her, but what I don't get is what happened to princess Toadstool ?(you'll see what I mean if you watch the little epilogue in the title screen). The depth, the game is wide and very open with many stages as well as secret unlock able stages which it does take time to discover them all . The game isn't to difficult, it's the same difficulty one has come to expect out of a Mario game, so enjoy!
