gamerforlifeforever: You know it's a serious situation when the creator of the no leaving thread rule makes a leaving thread, oh man.

I doubt that the thread editing was meant to cause drama. It seems like it was meant to have the opposite effect, actually. Editing out the entire thread would cause less drama to spread around the site. I agree that the way the threads were edited would cause some drama though, which is hopefully what you meant.

Either way, don't blame me that someone else made a thread about essentially the things they hate about vizzed.

I'm not sure why people are getting upset over this. It's one thing to be upset about the way threads are being edited out. I understand, you all feel it's disrespectful.

But don't forget that leaving threads aren't allowed. People shouldn't even be making them if they want to leave Vizzed. I also hear people want to say "find me in these places" as an excuse to make a leaving thread... why can't you put that on your Vizzed profile? I've done it before, and people have found me. It's not that hard. 

It's nice to see that people want to address that editing threads shouldn't be done, but it really doesn't mean leaving threads should still be made. Yes, I agree that geeo's leaving thread was very heartfelt and editing it out may not have been a good idea for you guys, but I honestly don't think it was intended to created the reaction we are getting from several people here.

Pacman+Mariofan : Anyways, I don't see how editing a leaving thread out would help defuse drama, it only causes it, or I guess in this case added fuel to a raging wildfire.

I don't think there is to much heavy censorship on Vizzed to be honest, granted you just can't just out right swear or "flame" insult other users but other than that I feel as though I've always been allowed to say or post about whatever topic I want and whatever I'm feeling emotionally even though it wasn't always the nicest thing to say. Granted I don't believe  good bye threads should be punished by banning or automatically closed simply because they are harmless when not done in excess and abide by the simple rules put in place. In addition you just have to word your posts differently for example rather than call someone a " f***ing re****ed a** b**ch" you could say your a moron, a coward, a constant bother to those around you, your intelligence rivals that of a common gold fish, your an ignorant bigot that has nothing to offer to society . See one of those will be censored while the other won't be it's all about your choice of words.   

Am I the only one that's confused as to why it took several pages of "he said, she said" to just, you know, SUMMON the big Dave himself? I mean, until he says something all of this is nothing but hearsay, really. Many of you are good friends of mine, that I really don't think would lie. (Stretch the truth? Maybe. Mishear or misquote? Possible.) To paraphrase my point, I will be eagerly awaiting David's response. You folks should too.

Soo...in four posts, you've had input about censorship on leaving threads, asked about the discord server, and acted as though you're new? I'm going out on a limb here and saying...you clearly must be a ninja, an amazing superspy who noone can see is a rereg.

manicman66 : Well, before David was summoned gamerforlifeforever contacted him and posted a picture of what David said in his reply. And Vanelan contacted David on Skype.

We didn't need to summon him to see any of his input because we have already seen some of it. But it was a good idea to have him post here so everyone would believe him and the rule would be publicly clarified in the thread itself.

By saying what you have you nullify yourself. A.) Any picture can be photoshopped. B.) While both Gamer and Van have told us what David said, both have a seeming conflictive conclusion on WHAT he said. C.) You finish by saying it's a good idea to have him post here, oppositionalizing on your preface, and agreeing with my statement.

I was waiting for someone to post that! I thought about it but then decided against it. I also thought that if I did that, I would take it a step farther by actually editing the post slightly.

If an moderator making decisions for you on what is and isn't inappropriate, it's not censorship, that's control.
If y'want that sort of restriction, be upfront and call it what it is.

Censorship was for questioning and categorizing content, not erasing its presence.
Content can be removed without using measures to hide that it even existed, make another trash can/section for it.

Afford people their nature to decide for themselves, at their own discretion.
