So this wasn't a surprise, but the Super NES Classic was revealed, coming with 21 games, being
Contra III: The Alien Wars
Donkey Kong Country
EarthBound
Final Fantasy III
F-ZERO
Kirby Super Star
Kirby’s Dream Course
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mega Man X
Secret of Mana
Star Fox
Star Fox 2 (Yeah, the unreleased, unfinished one, I'll get to it)
Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Castlevania IV
Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Super Mario World
Super Metroid
Super Punch-Out!!
This is a very solid list, the only possibly bad game on it could be Star Fox 2, but from the unfinished ROM that's been circling around for years, it will be good. It's incredible that Star Fox 2 on the SNES Classic is the new Star Fox game we're getting, but at least we finally get to see what that game was supposed to finish with. This roster of games is amazing, but I'd rather have the standard 30 that we got with the last classic console. Maybe adding Final Fantasy IV, a translated Final Fantasy V, Mega Man X2, X3, MM7, Castlevania Dracula X, Chrono Trigger, and the other two Donkey Kong Country games we could've had 30, but this is still a great selection, and I plan on picking it up, as Nintendo also stated there is going to be a much larger amount of stock of the SNES Classic compared to the NES, but they will only be in production from release to the end of 2017.

I hope this product does good because the original SNES was one of the best systems of all time that and Play Station I.

However, I was disappointed in the list of games it comes with. Yoshii's Island, Super Mario world, Donkey Kong Country and Mega Man X are included. But, I was hoping they would include Donkey Kong country 2 and 3, Mega Man X2 and Mega Man X3 as well as Super Mario All starts. Those games were very popular and are often regarded as classics. So yeah I was disappointed that they were not included.

I also think Mega Man 7 and Kirby's Dreamland 3 should have been added as well.

I managed to make it in time to preorder one of these. This seems like a huge step up from the NES classic which while it did have some good games didn't really provide the same value for money (in large part probably due to the limitations of the console and games which didn't always age well). Overall you're likely to get many more hours out of it than you would from the NES classic. Personally I think they really nailed the selection which is what drove me to get it. They could've focused on just the few major IPs like Mario and Mega Man to fill up the list but in stead they have something from practically every major genre and a good mix of 1st party and some less expected 3rd party titles serving as a sort of "best hits". Literally all of the series that first came to mind for me were on the list in some form. The only thing I would've taken out is Kirby's Dream Course, which I don't really see as something that stood out enough to be on the list of what is essentially supposed to be the 21 SNES games everyone should own. I'd prefer some more fast pace title that allows for coop play (like NBA Jam or Zombies Ate My Neighbors). That's a pretty small nitpick though which is mostly just down to my own preference on what is otherwise an amazing selection.

They even had the unreleased Star Fox 2 as the icing on the cake, though I expect them to eventually release it on the virtual console once they stop selling the SNES classic. Doubt that will stop it from boosting the demand for it further though. This looks like it will be comparable in rarity to the NES classic too considering the even bigger demand and how Nintendo said they will only be shipping them until the end of the calendar year which is too bad because I think it would be good for people to experience more of the 16 bit era. Can't wait to get my hands on one and have a retro gaming marathon, I'm expecting even the rest of my family may want to get in on it lol.

I'm disappointed in the number of games available. There are easily 100 games you could put onto a console like this and people would still complain because they missed a certain game that people are a fan of.

I'd be tempted to buy this if I couldn't emulate all of these games on my big screen but I can already do that.

And having the old controllers would be fun too.

Still, I can't really blame Nintendo for doing this. It more than justifies the fight over roms and emulators that they've been having in recent years.

While the edition of Star Fox 2 was completely unexpected and a jaw-dropper, the fact that they didn't include Chrono Trigger in the package was enough for me to decide that I'm not going to get it. (btw it's my favorite game of all time).

I hope it doesn't become common with these types of throwback consoles for them to run out so quickly. I really like that this one has a previously unfinished game on it though. How cool is that?

I'm still kind of upset about never being able to get an NES classic edition and the SNES classic edition only has 3 games I'd want to play. So I won't buy this but I still sincerely hope this becomes a quick success, and that people enjoy it a lot

Hopefully this doesn't drop RGR activity though.

I'll be honest, the only thing that really interests me about it is Starfox 2. I absolutely love the original Star Fox, as well as Star Fox 64, and I'm really glad they finally released the full version. Let's hope Nintendo makes a habit of releasing unreleased games.

I'd say that this is a pretty cool thing, but I just wish it had some other games I'm interested in. We can't always win, though. I'm not surprised that Chrono Trigger isn't on it, since that's Square.

yoshirulez! : Final Fantasy 3 (or 6) is on there, which leads me to believe that Square could have reached an agreement to let Nintendo put Chrono Trigger on the SNES Classic, so that was a really weird decision to me, but I can't wait for Star Fox 2 and to see how the developers actually intended it to end.

While they look really cool, and have a lot of good game for it. I feel like I'm really paying for an emulator. I was very tempted to buy it when I hard about Star Fox 2, but I'm sure there will be a Rom of it out sooner or later. However I find it to be a really cool collectible.
