So yeah, I'll admit, I may or may have not been looking for another Vizzed-like forum out there to plant seeds of disaster in, but hey, Vizzed still exists. Like if one day Vizzed actually gets more than 10 (DIFFERENT)  threads posted on within a 4 hour time frame and a new reason to attract people, yeah I'd come back, this is my home ground. One one hand, *insert all de hype*
On another... they're releasing this a year after the original was released? Jeez, pace yourselves pokemon. At least in 5th gen you gave us TWO years before you took that one mysterious pokemon you gave no story significance to decided to DBZ fuse with the two mascot legendaries. Speaking of which... they did this in 5th gen. Although admittably, it works out. A main complaint about doing it in 5th gen was that black and white kyurem didn't look like then belonged in pokemon. Their designs were all over the place, with the asymmetric bodies, spaghetti in their butt generators that are so loosely attached to their bodies they should've snapped off,  but your typical 14 yo edgelord (like I was) would have totally gone for it. These designs are much less out there, as rather than looking like a digimon, Solgaleo is now a voltron that otherwise is the same. Also I don't like the idea of Mimikyu shoving my face into it's... hole. Now seeing as how pokemon is now asking I spend another 40-50 dollars again for the same region as before, I'm going to need something great to get this game AGAIN. You can't just get away with showing me *insert legendary* MKII anymore, I'll stand up for pokemon's style of things as much as I see necessary, but THIS is what fuels people who want to be like ERMAHGERD IT'S THE SAME THING AS ALWAYS. So give me new mechanics, new other whatevers, something to mix up the..... fine, the stupid meta, and I'll check it out. But even then, if you won't give me a new way to play the story, I might as well use pokemon showdown for the new things they add.

Same for pokken on the switch, not really sure what's different, at least we know the 3ds isn't going extinct to the switch at least.

Oh boy, I have an excuse to buy another copy of Pokemon Moon, this time for myself!

It looks pretty cool, although they didn't show too much besides a fusion of that one story-irrelevant pokemon from last game and the story relevant pokemon here.

Pokken for the Switch looks nice. I didn't expect to see Decidueye there at all. So I'm kinda excited for that. Although I don't know if I'll get it though. I didn't like Pokken all that much.

I'm not gonna lie, I was extremely disappointed in the direct. I came in fully expecting to hear Nintendo announce that Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon would be coming to Switch, and then they'd spend the rest of the time talking about how transferring Pokemon would work. Instead, Switch owners got a deluxe version of a fighting game that was pretty good, but nothing amazing.

This would've been the perfect time to put the nail in the coffin for the Xbox One S, and the knockout punch to the haters who want nothing more than for Nintendo to be a 3rd party developer. Instead, I'm left wondering if and when we'll finally see a main series Pokemon game be in HD.

Still, I'll be buying Ultra Moon regardless, and possibly Ultra Sun if they do a steelbook bundle like they did with their predecessors.

To be honest, I would've been more disappointed if they did announce it for the Nintendo switch. While yes, being the new console that it is, it wouldn't necessarily be that surprising if they were to say, bring over the main series to a different system, especially considering it can go "handheld".

However, to consider two fact

Which is that the Nintendo switch is still a console. A main series of the Pokemon games has yet to be done so on a console, even if being able to be reversed.

2nd is that UltraSun and UltraMoon *basically* pulled a Black/White 2 on us. In which those were released on the DS platform instead of the 3ds for the same reason. That it wouldn't be fair to those whom have already played the first who didn't have a 3ds yet with finishing the whole generation

My thoughts on it are indifferent. Then again, the current trailer available to public isn't that revealing as far as that goes, and I wont expect it to be. Even though im still crying on the inside about a Gen 4 remake 

Ill probably end up getting UltraMoon once pre-ordering is available. I'm just hoping things will be a little different than having a few more pokemon, because to be completely honest, it didn't look too different to me for the most part.

Not surprised that it's not for the switch.

The 3DS is starting to wither out and pokemon is one of the main reasons it's still selling at an okay amount, so of course they'll be milking it for as long as possible. 8th gen + sinnoh remakes will probably come on the nintendo switch/whatever new thing they might have by then.

And while I would have been happier with gen 4 remakes, we still got something and the art for US/UM looks dope. 


My one complaint for US and UM is that I just don't get why they made them. B2W2 were sequels to BW and answered the remaining questions that were left in BW (like what happened to Ghetsis etc.). I don't know why we need US & UM. Is it going to be entirely based around Necrozma? Does the Ultra in their names mean that it's going to be based around Ultra Beasts? Will Lillie shut up come back (along with Lusamine)? Like that's all that I can think of.

The Pokemon Company could've made Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for both 3ds AND switch, and made it to where you could do online play with people playing on either console. Nobody would've been left behind.

Capcom (a 3rd party developer) announced that the new Monster Hunter game for Switch and 3ds would support cross-play for both systems. There's no reason why The Pokemon Company couldn't have done the same with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. That's why I was disappointed.

I agree with you to an extent. Pokemon on Switch would be awesome, however I'd also be fine with it staying on 3DS for now. A lot of people got angry from the Direct because the games weren't on the Switch as that Pokemon Stars rumor had stated. However, that's not the company's fault, that's the people's fault for getting their hopes up about something that was never confirmed in the first place, and it bothers me that some people are saying that these are going to be the worst games in the series when we barely know ANYTHING about these games.

I will admit it does tick me off that they presented the reveal of these games poorly. They focused so much of their attention on Pokken Tournament DX. I don't have a HUGE issue with Pokken DX itself, but the fact that they were like: "Oh look, the next main series games. Isn't that cool? Now, more about Pokken..." They acted like they didn't even reveal it.

Regardless of the controversy, I'm sure I'll still enjoy these games to the fullest, even though as of now it looks VERY similar to Black 2 and White 2. We don't even know if that really is fusion, though. Hopefully more info will come to us on Tuesday, cause I'm dying for more information.

New switch pokemon is hype though, looking forward to that. Don't really like the 3DS.

It's probably for the best that Nintendo is holding off on the gen 4 remakes for now. I don't mind waiting as long as it shows promise. For all those complaining about Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon not being exclusively released on the Nintendo Switch, it's worth noting that the switch is a new system whereas the 3DS has been out for over 6 years. Simply put, more people are going to have access to a 3DS than a switch, therefore, the games wouldn't sell nearly as well if they were switch exclusive. Also, it doesn't make sense to have a re-telling/upgraded version of the game on an entirely different system. If gen 4 remakes start on a new system, that's fine because there's a 2 generation system gap (DS and 3DS) to allow for greatly enhanced features and visuals. 

On that same note, I'm glad they waited until gen 6 to do gen 3 remakes (just like they did gen 1 remakes in gen 3 and gen 2 remakes in gen 5), so logically, we aren't due to get a gen 4 remake until gen 8, which we can expect in 2018-2019. As far as news goes, there hasn't been a lot, but that's because the release date is still a while away. Nintendo knows what they're doing, soon enough we'll be getting leaks/trailers each week as the release approaches.

So while I don't think I'll be blown away by Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, I'll give it a chance because it just might surprise me. Really, I'd be happy if they get rid of the Festival Plaza and include a reliable way to level up because Sun and Moon are a dry well where that is concerned.
