Whatever this was, I thought it looks good. If this was made into a forum wide optional theme I'd use it (especially if there was a dark version to go with it). Also to note, there was somethings you don't see (like the side bars) because I use element hiding with uBlock Origin, so I'm pretty sure they loaded, and they were hidden by uBlock Origin (same thing for all the ads).

While it only happens in that thread, it may have an explanation.

You see, rented forums, such as the one that thread is, can now be modified by the forum's mods. It may have happened that someone tried to edit that forum to give it that look, but it didn't go through and thus we only see it in that thread.

Not sure if this is the actual answer, but it's a possibility.

Like EX Palen said, this could very well be either intentional or the result of a forum layout customization error. I can't remember where, but I think I also recall hearing about being able to customize individual threads, as well. I'll see if I can dig around and find what I think I read.
