With 2017 starting next week, I decided I should make a thread similar to one I made late last year. To anyone reading this thread, you can post your Vizzed 2016 highlights here. It doesn't matter whether it's something small or big, you can post it on this thread.

As for me, here's my Vizzed 2016 highlights:

Back in January, I got the Nintendo Manager role, which I still have to this day. In the Spring TDV, I won overall red, in May I got promoted from site staff to local moderator. Somehow, I did good enough with being a local mod to be promoted to global mod back in September. Last but not least, I was named Member of the Year in the Vizzed Awards. This has definitely been the best year I've had on Vizzed, hopefully 2017 will be as memorable as 2016 was.

(Also winning both Pokemon Showdown Tournaments and 2 music contests were good highlights as well)

Like... I met a couple people.

That's pretty much it, really. Not nearly as exciting as previous years

First of all, I managed to enter the top 10 for most CP surpassing the 50k mark in late July. It's an incredible milestone to reach, considering only a handful of active users are beyond that mark (though this is surely going to change in the future). I'm still climbing through the ranks, but the top 5 is out of sight since they're all active users earning a lot of CP and thus I cannot reduce the gap between them and me.

Second, in late January I got my Sony Manager role. It's a quite nice role to have because it's the perfect excuse to be up to date with the latest releases for Sony consoles, and thanks to this role I managed to find three awesome games I own today and several more that have caught my interest, not to mention the useful sources I've encountered (and how I've discarded what were "useful sources" in the past for not being trustworthy anymore).

Third, I managed to tie with Master for Best Guide Writer in this year's awards. I'm the first person to ever come close to him since that award is given out, so it's a big success for me specially since I stopped doing guides in September.

I don't care much for the TdV, but still in the Summer TdV I set an immense record for Yellow and Red thanks to a special guide I prepared. That month I was celebrating two years as a guide writer and also the fact it should have been my 25th guide as staff, so I wanted to do something big. This highlight caused two more indirect highlights: the record for Red caused the highlight which I opened this post with earlier than I thought, and the record for Yellow allowed me to enter top 15 for post experience enabling me to surpass half a million words on the site.

That's pretty much everything good that has happened to me this year in this site. It looked promising at first, but several things have happened throughout the year that turned steep uphill into almost vertical downhill.

My first year in Vizzed- quite a lot of things happened but, these are the ones I can recall now:

Most importantly made tons of friends!!  

Well... the biggest thing in my 2016 year was becoming active again. 

I have applied for mod. 
I've become an elite, through Patreon. 
I have had over 250,000 Viz for a few months... 

That really sums up the entire year so far. (At least the Vizzed side of it.)

I kept this job all year, met a great friend, and..That was it. lol

I have had a couple of interesting highlights this year.

I was :

- recognized for my posting ability and my veteran-ness (among other things) in the Vizzed Awards.
- Vizzed Married
- Ran multiple successful forum games
- Became a mentor to some younger members
- Found more in common with new members
- Finished in the top 3 in a Team TDV, despite being an anti-team.

uhhh, I entered my first Vizzed tournament, hoping to finish in 1st or 2nd place (I've got plenty confidence ). That's about it though.

2016 was the year I found the site on a random pokemon firered help and found a guide on this site and after looking around on the site I signed up and boy I don't regret it all.

This forum has the best community I have found on any internet forums.

I guess the biggest thing to happen to me on Vizzed this year was winning overall Yellow in the fall TdV. That's about it. Not sure if I'll seriously try for that again or not, but it was pretty fun anyway. Too bad it takes so much time, I just don't have much of that to spare anymore. But who knows, maybe I'll figure out a way to compete again next time.

I managed to keep both my staff roles throughout the year? 

Idk, not a whole lot happened to me this year. Met a couple new people, did good in the last week of last TdV and I got third place in one of the awards.


Not as crazy as 2015 was, that's for sure.

I got hired for the new "MESS Researcher and Configurator" staff role.

Me and Barathemos got the Set Sail forum up and running.

I became a That One Forum staff member/Moderator and decorated the forum with lots of chocolate pudding.

Finished in the top 3 in a Team TDV with Leggy and yoshirulez!. (Even though as Leggy said, we were an anti-team lol)

Met a few vizzed users. (Though I tend to be shy honestly lol, which is something I should overcome in my real life as well)

Had a crazy posting spree with some friends. There were lots of fire usernames including my username. It's very rare when my name is on fire, or even at least Italicized. I couldn't believe that day.

Hopefully I didn't forget anything else.

I only got two highlights.

First I got unbanned after being perma'd for two years or so and then I became a patreon.

JigSaw : I suppose I could. After my last ban, I decided it was probably for the best. I was highly addicted to the site, worse than I was to tobacco when I was in the Army. 
Early this year, some of my friends from this site asked if I ever wanted to come back, and I said I wasn't sure. After a few months, I changed my tune to saying that while I wasn't going to beg to come back, but if I was unbanned, I wouldn't object to it. 
Right before I got unbanned, I found out about David's Patreon. Don't remember how, but I found out about it, and I decided to support David. He never did wrong by me, and the site helped me through most of High School. I started talking to vanelan on Steam, and next thing I know, he's telling me to log in. 
I was surprised. I didn't try to buy my way back in. But, I got unbanned for whatever reason, so I'm not objecting to it. 

Well, aside from becoming more active than I was before, I managed to get a staff position again. I had one before, but I couldn't keep up and ended up losing it...I just hope the same thing won't happen again.

legacyme3 : Our anti-team was actually a highlight of it but I wound up forgetting because of how much I wasn't trying. You think we should do that again this month? It could be quite the enjoyable event or lackthereof

Did not really do much this year like I had planned but I got to play some good games on the PS4 and I won FAQ of the Month for September at GameFAQs so I got to buy a lot of PS4 games at that.

I was briefly number 3 with the most video minutes posted. I will make sure I gain that position again during Tour de Vizzed!

Mostly played Pokémon GO along with Pokémon Cloud White.

2016 had been a pretty bad year for me here. It started off great and then everything crashed around the middle of the year so I wasn't able to get anywhere near what a normal year for me would have been like.

The two biggest things that I have been able to pull off throughout the year however, would be reaching 20,000 posts along with reaching 100K CP, which are both pretty awesome, but that's really all that there was to the year.
