so I suppose it's time for another rant, this time a follow up to the other times that the post office screwed me over.

I do a lot of buying and trading online, mostly for baseball related stuff, and on one site that works like ebay but for trading stuff, I did about 15 orders over the past 2 months. There's one thing that I really wanted, and I was in negotiations with this guy for a few months, every now and then I would add a few more things that he liked until the value matched about two weeks ago.

So about 2 weeks ago we agree and we both send our stuff, which each have a declared value of a couple hundred dollars. He gives me both tracking and insurance and yet the PO messes everything up because when I went to look up the tracking today, the PO says that it was delivered a WHOLE week ago.

I got a dozen packages just this one week alone yet this one simply doesn't show up.

The people at the PO dont know anything that happened and even though the package has insurance, a claim cant even be filed unless the other person takes a picture of his receipt and sends it, and even if that works out, all i might get would be some money, with the stuff I sent and the stuff I really wanted possibly gone forever.

zanderlex : From a guy that used to work in the postal service I can relate to this. Its so many people involved in the process to get the package to your address that anything can happen.

Remember one time I work at pick up point on the terminal where customer could pick up the package they have ordered, She give me the tracking number and it says its delivered, but the customer was not home, but at the terminal so she gets angry at me and starts screaming and I take her number and say I will call her if we find the package. A new customer come in and is looking for his fridge. I go looking for the fridge and finds it, but on top of the fridge its some smaller packages where the driver have left them without telling anyone. The screaming lady package was one of them, So i call her and tells here I found her package. She returns very humble and say sorry for screaming at me, but in the end I understand her.

So in the end, Many things can happen, but shame it happens to you, I understand why you are so angry!

zanderlex : The U.S. Postal Service has been messed up for years between slow delivery updates and processes and the fact that there prices are just "highway robbery" I only used the USPS one time for shoes that I ordered and they did a piss poor job at the handling of my package, the boxing provided by them was destroyed as well as the product inside you can tell it was just handled rough and forced into the mail box instead of being left at my front door. And yet despite being "snail mail" they wounder why people use UPS, FedEX etc. etc. instead of the crappy government provided USPS service.

Did you ever get the package?
I've had something re-routed to New Jersey from NY for some reason then be delivered to my address in NY. *shrugs*

Most recently, they claim to have sent out something for delivery and claim they left a notice when I was home the whole day.
No knock, no delivery attempt notice (even though they put on the site that they left 1). Instead, they came at 9am and left it at the door.

I really hate it when my packages doesn't arrive. I've had experiences of delivery people who never knocked on my door and claimed they did. Or put my delivery in another house, and never left a slip through my door saying so. This happened a few times with me this had gone on for 2 weeks or more. >.>

I don't have much of an issue with the USPS, usually they've been very kind to me (though one time we did lose a couple things) but I dunno.

I recently ordered a Wii and its getting here pretty fast, as long as it arrives safely I don't think I'll have any issues with the post office.

Usually when a package gets delivered to the wrong place it's because there is another house with your address (not the same street name although it could be similar like if you lived at 888 north sycamore and the package was sent to 888 south sycamore) and not to a different state. Hope you have your package.

I understand that feeling though. One time I ordered bedding through internet and requested it to be delivered to the university that I was attending to that time, especially since it's so far away from my home and I am very limited with the amount of items I can bring on the plane. According to my e-mail and the site that I used, it already been delivered to the campus' postal office. Once I landed and got myself checked into the dorm, I went over to the postal office and asked about the package- which they claimed that it did not arrived at all. I ended up sleeping 4 days straight without anything to sleep with. Each days, I visited the office to check on them and to ask about the package, until I got email from them saying that it was all of the way in the back of the office.

Wonderful way of starting the first year at the university, I'll tell you that.

Alright.. I don't have a worse story to share than you, but I will say that I was a bit irritated with the Post Office since I had to walk a mile into town only for my package to not be in the boxes yet. I was fairly certain it was in the building but it wasn't actually delivered to my P.O Box yet, and I had to walk another mile in the rain the next day just to get it.

yoshirulez! : Is this a family PO Box or your own? I always wanted a PO box because either my mail gets lost, somehow stays at the Post Office, or my family just forgets about taking it out of the mailbox or forgets to give it to me and keeps it. Always wanted one, but I think they are waaaay too expensive here.
