iPhone batteries are the worst

DUN MAND F A DEW

My 2 year old windows phone can be used for 6-8 hours before the battery dies. My 3 year old Vita can be in standby for a week and then used for a few hours. Same with my 5 month old iPhone? NOPE! I can walk with it for 15 blocks just using it to listen to music and it goes from 100% to RIP. Sometimes my battery doesn't even go to 0, every now and then the phone will automatically die on its own until it's plugged in again, even when it's at 40 or 50%.

Are all iPhone batteries horrible? Do you also have any stories of battery related horrors?

IIRC, this is a common problem with iPhones.
And since they are not swapable/replaceable, there is nothing you can really do about it either.

I don't really have the same problem with my old iPhone 4, but that could be because of two things: The fact that I never use it and the fact that it's a weak piece of crap. I only use it briefly as a flashlight, keep it on me for the clock, use it for the alarm and play Solitaire.

m0ssb3rg935 : Wow, I would have expected the 4 to be even worse with the battery than mine since it's older, it makes me think that it must be a combination of bad kind of battery but also something wrong with the phone itself because I can keep the phone idle for a few hours and it will die from 100%.

Your phone is a whole lot newer and has a lot more powerful hardware, which sucks a lot more juice. I may have a battery from 2010, but I'm also only running a single core at 1 GHz with only a half gig of RAM.
