I've been listening to this band more and more lately,it is 3 japanese girls singing mostly in japanese over some heavy metal guitars,but the choruses of the songs are pure J-Pop,they need to be seen and heard to be believed

I remember my dad telling me about this a few years ago. When he described it, it sounded like the most ridiculous thing in the world, and that comes from someone who likes Primus and Mr. Bungle. But I have to admit that that was kind of awesome. Nothing like I imagined it to be.

Although I did see you mention it in the "what are you currently listening to?" thread, I have never heard of this band until you mentioned it. Based on the link you provided, they seem like the type of group I would listen to. I like the sound of their gimme chocolate song, so I think I might just check them out and listen to a few of their other songs to see if they catch my fancy. I'm glad you shared this though, who knows, I might just come to like their music.

Even though I had a good laugh when I heard Gimme Chocolate for the first time, I've still listened to Babymetal a lot ever since. I think many people have difficulties taking their music seriously but I really enjoy their concept of twisting metal with pop. I think they came out with a new album this year but I haven't had the chance to listen to it yet. Do you know if it's any good? I love their first studio album.

sillysoul :  The new album is great,they have really matured,a couple of years ago when the first album came out everyone thought it was a joke and a gimmick and it won't last,but this new album is really well made and it is successful so they proved the critics wrong,my favorite songs on it are Karate,GJ and The One,and they sing in english on that song,impressive
