I wasn't sure if this was the right forum to out this in. I had to make the thread asking any FNAF fans have you gone about to playing the new game a of yet? Or seen youtubers watch it? As of now I am watching Markpiler play the game, and it is really different I don't want to spoil what I know so far, but I wanted to know if you guys have gone around playing the game as of yet. Or watching someone play the game instead. As some of you know I love FNAF games, but I would never ever play them myself, and would rather watch mark play the game.

Seen it,  Kinda disappointed by it.

The ending is shocking, but the game overall looks patheically easy.

I've seen gameplay, and I want to say a couple things.

The FNaF franchise has always been sensationalized, and that's why it dies so quickly. That's why it needs so many sequels to stay relevant. While Scott has been getting better at games, his game design still relies on cheap jumpscares and is built on the thought of becoming a sensation. Sensationalism in the videogame industry does not work, and as such, FNaF will not last. It will just be a flash in the pan of the gaming industry and then it'll all be over.

There are practically no redeeming qualities, especially not for me since it relies on jumpscares and I only have reflexes and physical reactions, when it does not actually scare me. i.e my heartrate doesn't change in the slightest when one pops up, regardless if I jump or not. It's not a very good way to instill fright unto someone.

While it is a step in the right direction, it's still faulty and needs a redesign.

I have seen a few Youtube videos of it so far, though not really a fan of it.

SuperCrash64 : Yeah I am seeing of that too. I find it ok, but weird and creepy to another scale. The main reason I am watching is because of the story in hope of them actually getting the peaces in of what I am looking for. I don't really blame you for feeling disappointed about the game.

yoshirulez! : Yeah I can see....There are still some things Scott needs to try and fix on in a way to make the game how it should be. I agree with what you have to say too. I think that's why either some love the game or hate it the game will again get mixed reviews of likes and dislikes.

zanderlex : Yeah even people who are not big fans of the game, watch to see how big it becomes, and if it gets successful or it will fail.

Well...At least this one had a sense of humor this time around. Watching the game made me chuckle, and I was spooked a grand total of zero times. World record, amirite?

Scott should take his newfound sense of humor, and go make a sequel to The Desolate Hope already.

I wasn't even aware that it was out until now, which should probably clue you into how much I don't care about FNAF :p.

I doubt I will in the future either, unless I accidentally bump into it.

I also highly doubt that I'll like the game, based on what people in this thread have said alone.

I don't really follow the FNaF games, but I was over at a friends house last week and he mentioned that the sequel had come out and then he went to look for gameplay for it on youtube. I didn't really pay it much attention, but from what I saw, it really wasn't scary at all. Maybe it was because the gameplay he pulled up wasn't of very good quality, but I doubt a better quality video would've done the game much justice. 

My younger brother is seriously obsessed with the FNaF franchise (he draws all of the characters in his notebook all day long, everyday...if that's not obsession, I don't know what is), but I don't think he is aware of the new game.

Even as someone that doesn't know/or play the game at all, based on the gameplay I've seen and the tactics it relies on to get scares, I know for a fact that if I were to play the game, I wouldn't find it scary in the least.

A user of this : I know the game doesn't seem so good, but watching mark made a whole lot more better. In the sense of humor wise so I had fun with watching that. I've seen and watched the game its pretty short and it didn't give me what I was looking for more based on the story. The only thing they did was give in a tiny of it.

Sanspai : Not a lot of people would know its out yet or some only would since they are like FNAF fans. I just happened to see a video of it on youtube that's why I watched it.

Razor-987 : Not a lot of people do since most of the fandom killed it in a way. Or in a lot of way alone.

A user of this : Yknow, I thought about playing The Desolate Hope. I mean, you're literally a coffee pot named coffee, and it literally has Desolate in it. My name practically everywhere is Desolation, so it's just so fitting.

And yknow, I wonder if anyone asked him if he ever would? Do you think he would if we asked him?

That's why I've stopped caring for the FNAF franchise, everytime they hype the game up so much with theories, guesses, and leaks on information.


And then Scott just brings the end of the game on a Cliffhanger, just so he can continually drag out the franchise.



It was a Cool franchise for the time being, but I think everyone has gotten tired of the Cheap Jumpscare and Cliffhanger nonsense.

Well, Scott Cawthon did say Sister Location would be much different than the other FNAF games.
I remember I was disappointed when FNAF 3 came out, because it wasn't as good as the other 2 games.
FNAF 1 will always be my favorite, FNAF 2 my 2nd favorite.

I would like to say SL is better than FNAF 3 and 4. It's different, but it's better than the last two.
SL did have a cliffhanger ending (on both endings), but I don't think we really need a sequel to SL.

SuperCrash64 : I don't really blame you since with how things are going as of now. It seems just getting more worse to even look at. Yeah that's the one thing I am disliking what Scott does now. Which I find really annoying instead of finishing, and ending the franchise when he should. I l think that's why those who like it now hate it even more.

BestGamer24 : Yeah it was really different from how I saw markipler playing it. I have to say I am disappointed in this new one really. I liked the 3rd one better than this. But, I don't like the 4th one as much because with that one the gameplay made no sense. Yeah I know I saw both of those endings the first one was just.... plain creepy. The second ending was actually a little more better.

yoshirulez! : Yeah, it seems like the perfect game for you. And I really don't know if anybody's asked him about the game. Although with his never ending goldmine that he's done, I highly doubt he would ever take a risk like making another unique game featuring such strange concepts such as active gameplay, he seems to have finally figured out how to program more than one screen/area though.
