Does anyone here like boxing? Its a sport I now have come to like doing because of a game on the wii. I tend to play my wii most of the time and it would only be boxing it helps work off a good sweat too. I find boxing.....fun. I think because of this I might actually try and get into watching it more. I have watched some boxing on tv before, but I am now thinking to watch it more to learn moves, and other things. Do you like to go and learn boxing? Watch it on tv? Which of these two questions do you do more of? And why do you like boxing? You can also state why you dislike boxing for reasons. Not everyone is going to like this sport, and I would like to know your opinions about it.

I liked boxing far more as an ideal than a sport. In the time I've been alive, boxing has been at the worst it's been in forever. If you were going to encapsulate an era by one person, the best era was heralded by giants like Muhammad Ali, whereas the current generation is best known for the chicken s*** Floyd Mayweather.

Bulls*** fighting tactics aside, boxing is a beautiful ideal where skill, speed, and precision all are balanced perfectly.

I don't know a lot about other boxers though, so I'm going to look into the other guy you mentioned . Then at least I have some knowledge, and to be able to talk more about the person. I agree boxing is beautiful, and it only took a wii boxing game to play to know that.

I've generally been a fan of boxing, haven't watched too much of it on TV or anything, but I've practiced form when I was younger and know enough to hold my own against the other people I've fought with in my neighborhood, or at least a few years back.

My dad (who is autistic and ridiculously obsessed with Landsknechts https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landsknecht and swordplay) started teaching me basic form when I was around two, so I've generally come to enjoy sparring with people in most forms of combat. Boxing being among my favorite.

Honestly, I never got to like boxing. I prefer the traditional martial arts from Asia: taekwondo, karate, muay thai...

Maybe it's because I don't like the fact that a fighter must rely in a single part of its body. I always keep away from the boxers in fighting games for rarely using the button(s) meant for kicks, and it seems to have escalated to the real life sport. I do get excited when watching a taekwondo fight (beyond the medal matches that Spain played in the last Olympics) because you never know which attack they may unleash next, but I get bored with boxing. True is that rules are totally different, but still the fighting style marks the first and most noticeable difference to tilt the scale.

Nah, I think Boxing has been trying to do too much lately. If the kind of boxing that took place maybe 20 years ago was till around, then I might find it more fun to watch for me, but it's become too much about the money IMO, more than any other sport.

Maybe my disinterest is due to my indifference to most sports in general...strangely enough, I do like judo, martial arts, and karate because they require the use of your entire body (and mind) when fighting. Even then though, I would only learn them as a means of self-defense.

The same goes for tv as well. I don't watch tv, with the exception of the news channel and 1-2 other programs, and anything that has to do with sports or boxing isn't one of them.

Boxing is kind of odd, but at least its better than wrestling. Wrestling is mostly staged and is just people cuddling on the floor awkwardly in front of other people, and I don't want that.

I do like boxing videogames though, such as Evander Holyfield boxing on the Genesis, and Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! on the NES. I kind of want to try the Wii version of Punch Out, but I don't have a wii

yoshirulez! : That's what I thought at first to do with boxing you know? Boxing was kind of odd for me until I got like a game for it on the wii I can play which you know about. It somehow made me to like boxing a bit more not sure how though maybe because of how the way it is structured to draw people in to enjoy. I've heard about that wii game you mentioned since supercrash recommended to try and get the game to play if I can.
