I have AVG anti-virus and when I updated to the latest RGR plugin
whenever I try to play a game it loads then stops with emulator closed.
I already allowed and made an exception on the AVG anti-virus for the
plugin but still doesn't work. Is there a way to fix this without
disabling my anti-virus?

What little experience I had with AVG wasn't a good one. It catches a whole lot of false positives relating to videogames. AVG also collects your browsing data and sells it to third parties, so if I were you, I'd just switch anti-virus software.

Are you sure it's AVG? Have you tried playing games with AVG disabled?

Going to back up m0ss here - AVG is honestly more trouble than it's worth. Not only does it catch many false positives and hardly ever catches anything real, it's also very annoying with its popups.

If you're looking for a new anti-virus I would recommend a combination of BitDefender and MalwareBytes. BitDefender has great live protection and I use MalwareBytes to scan specific files I suspect to be dangerous.

There are 3 files you need to allow. Did you allow all 3?
(I don't know them offhand,I would have to get the exact names)

Norton? You went from bad to worse. >.<
If you want free, the least intrusive with the least false positives in my experience is Avast.

I don't mind paying a small yearly fee for good virus protection but I don't know which is the best and most compatible with the RGR plugin. Any suggestions? Oh yeah I did verify that the norton antivirus was the problem by uninstalling it and after was able to play a vizzed game with no problems.

Norton is just bad in general.
As far as good protection goes, zone alarm is good, but can be very restrictive.

I personally prefer Avast (which I already mentioned. :3)

So I'm going to get rid of norton but would like to know if vipre is ok. I mention it because I did a little research and it scored the highest in reviews. If not that one then I'll probably go with avast since its reviews were good also and you recommended it.

Vanelan : So I got avast like you said and after installing it and running a full system scan I tried playing a vizzed game and it seemed to work until I tried going full screen using mednafen which went to a black screen then crashed. So the next thing I tried was uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling it but not the complete uninstall but the one keeping the settings. After that I tried again to play a game and same result. Something weird happened right before the install completed it gave an error message saying service loader quit unexpectedly if I remember correctly but then it said successfully installed. I don't mind doing a complete uninstall if that will make the plugin work. Please help. Thanks.
