So most of us here hates doing chores those that know me know very well I hate doing chores. So what is the best way to do them? Play loud music not for your next door neighbours to hear, but on a good amount of volume and play your favourite music. That's what I do and it really helps out in a long way. Because I just don't want to do it in silence it makes things even more boring. I tend to play Disney music, if not then video game music to make the work more fun. What do you do to make your chores more fun to do?

Well for me I tend to do dishes and the etc when it comes for chores, so this is what I do:

Hum songs, either video game or otherwise.


*Pretend I'm doing a wrestling show.*

And I walk back and forth because of a habit, but I think being in one spot the entire time is boring.


Really there's nothing much you can do that makes chores fun.

Honestly there isn't much that makes chores funner, other than creating a random storyline with my OCs (I promise they're original) in my head, humming a tune I like, and just getting it over with. Thankfully they don't take long at all so I'm not tortured that much.

I don't hate doing chores at all. I struggle to do them at times, but I always love to help out, especially when I can see I'm making a positive difference. Sometimes I lose sight of that, though. I like to whistle, sing, and think of ideas, among other things. Cue "Whistle While You Work" from Pinocchio It seriously can help. Playing games just isn't as satisfying without work. Although I've found that playing certain games can be as rewarding as work (I checked out Pokken Tournament from the library recently and discovered a lot about myself by striving to improve my skills). In fact, I enjoyed playing Pokken so much, I'm considering buying the game and trying to become a professional. But I feel there are better things for me to do, as well. Plus I don't have the money for events...or the game

I play music, but I have to use ear buds and my phone because my neighbors. Also mom and dad don't care much for my music, or at least not the more wild stuff. Surprisingly mom can handle some of the screaming stuff, but most of it is a no. xD

supernerd117 : Lol you sound just like my little sister, glad to know you like doing chores. I hate the chores, but I wouldn't want my house dirty so that's why I MAKE sure I do my chores so when I do them I feel happy the place is clean, and the things done. Yeah I remember that Disney song. I didn't know much about that game until Matt my best friend said what the game is about. I've heard of it and thought maybe its popular since I don't really play it myself.

Eirinn : Yay! Yeah I agree it HAS to be a sibling thing! Yep at times I use my earphones too when needed I think its better that way so you can hear the music a whole lot more better. XD

I used that app a couple years ago and it really gave me motivation to finish boring tasks at hand. By finishing tasks you level up your character so it's like a real life rpg! I think I may try it again as well.

sillysoul : Wow it looks fun to do you know I might just download it. That's if my phone has any space lol I doubt it has, and I don't really want to go deleting things on my phone I actually need to have. One day I will download the game once I have space for it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't know anything about how to make chores fun. I just do them because I'm asked, kind of like a robot. Unless of course I can decline, to which I say "No." almost like a robot. I'm a very robotic person

But I don't mind doing boring mundane tasks, life is stressful as it is so I enjoy just have nothing to do.

Honestly, I have never done chores before... My parents normally just tell me to focus on homework and studying and they do all the chores. (back in high school when I used to live with my parents). My parents were mainly concerned about my grades and focusing in school and... nothing else pretty much. I really love my parents for that since I feel like this really helped me learn how to maintain good grades, even in college. (although it's not easy)

Also, as for laundry... I visit my family every weekend... and well... My parents do my laundry for me while I stay and do lots and lots of homework. lolol. Yes, I'm such a lazy nerd. I also eat at a college dining hall so I don't have to worry about dishes. So I barely do much chores anyways. But in the future (probably grad school), that's when I'm probably going to have to actually do chores lol. I should learn these chores early soon...

yoshirulez! : Wow your the first......but, hey not everyone is going to do like listen to music and other things. There will be some people out there that will do what you like to do when it comes to doing chore youshi. So I can understand and respect your post to do with that.

Mohammedroxx3 : Oh....wow I didn't know that at all.....I wouldn't call you lazy lol I would just say some parents are different with how they are with their children. And I would know not all parents will allow their children to do the chores which I have forgotten about. But, I am still surprised to do with your post moha.

I do it in one very simple way.

I talk with my siblings.

I have a few things in common with them, such as Terraria or Minecraft, but the time that it takes to make these games actually get somewhere, they don't have, so often I'm limited to interacting with them in games like Mario Kart of just taking part of a normal conversation.

Chore time is a great time to do it. We start doing chores, we start talking. I love it because I actually have a very good time just talking to them as I work. Plus it's nice to get away from the computer. I can't say I've really hated doing chores because of it. Work can suck when you're alone, but good company makes it quite a breeze. ^^

Sword legion : Oh.....that I forgot you know? That used to happen with me and my siblings back when we were like not busy at collage or uni. Most times it felt great talking to them, and learning something new from them. Sadly with me it was the same boring stuff in any case we still talk in general about things life or old school anime, cartoons we used to watch. Sometimes we even sing lol....we put on some songs from a film called A Goofy Move since we know all the lyrics, we sang all of the songs which I found was pretty funny....I guess I forgot to mention this. Thanks sword for helping me to remind of something I had forgotten.

Eniitan : I wouldn't say there's necessarily a best way to do chores, but I do prefer to listen to music as well when I'm washing the dishes or cooking. I used to listen to the radio and sing along during those times and people would laugh with me for dancing while I did the dishes. XD Over time, I found that having another goal in addition to just completion of the chores helps me to keep things fun when I'm doing the chores alone (although personally, I think that chores are always more fun when other people are also helping out).

For example, for washing dishes, I'd blow bubbles into the air with the detergent so that bubbles would be flying everywhere and it would feel like I was underwater as I washed. It also helped to amuse the kids that were around and waiting to play with me.

For mowing the lawn, I would imagine that I was trying to make a Japanese rock garden as I walked around the trees and bushes with the lawnmower to make "patterns" in the grass.

Yuna1000 : Hmm I see you kind of do things a little different when it comes to chores I see...apart from the listening to the music part. I guess everyone is different with how they do their things. I don't really mow the lawn sadly if I do I will end up sneezing, because of the grass which I am allergic too. As for the picture it looks pretty cool if you was to do something of that one day. Maybe you could do it you can never know unless you try, and pattern your lawn.

I probably do the same thing as you, except with ear buds in or something. I have housemates so I try not to bother them with louder music because there's usually at least one of us studying at any time XD Anyways, I usually just listen to something up beat and just crank out the chore until it's done. Sometimes it's kind of enjoyable if I have good music on.

I usually just put my nose to the grind stone and get it done.

If the task is extraordinarily mundane, such as painting a fence for hours and hours on end, then I'll usually just put my ear buds in using my phone to listen to I <3 Radio or some thing like that. I love how that app has a ton of channels for comedians and their work, so I can keep my self laughing instead of being miserable getting stuff done XD

MoblinGardens : Yeah its always good to use your earphones at most times I do while other times I don't. I usually put my earphones in because I can hear the music a lot more than it is for it to be done out loud. Yep up beat music is the way to go when needed it helps a lot more to get into the work, and before you know it the chores are done.

I have learned to make friends with Youtube, Pandora, and my MP3 library. I find that is really help, and it depends on what I'm doing as to what I will listen to. I try to have something fun, kinda like a treat for myself at the end of the chore. It makes you want to get it done.
