About a year and a half ago, I received a new computer to replace the old one that was getting too slow. It was an Asus (refurbished?) and I hated it with a passion: USB ports could not read my iPhone - and I couldn't use any type of mouse in the end, 8 GB of RAM was too slow to play and record PSX games from Vizzed, the touch screen went mad whenever I tried to dust it off, the starting up was part-time at one point, etc.

But now, I have a top-notch computer I am very proud of. It has 16 GB of RAM, so I can record PSX videos without any problems, the USB ports work to perfection so far, the screen is "normal" and quite big (17 inches for a laptop) and the CD-ROM works. I just wished the arrows weren't so close to the shift key; I have to use the latter to move up. But hey! It was such a good bargain for a brand new computer that I can't complain

Nice very nice. Its always great to get a new computer that will run things well for you. As that is what we gamers are always looking to the computer system and how much it has so we know its limit and what we can do. It wouldn't be nice not to be able to get the right computer for gaming especially if you need to record things, or want to record things. Much less to stream as well which would be a problem. Glad to know you got a very good build computer, that allows you to do the things you want like recording.

Thats great. What graphics card and processor do you have? I wanted to build a new computer for Christmas with a gtx 1070 and i5 6600.
Btw 8gb of ram is plenty if you are only playing a psx game and recording.

I'm not exactly sure what kind of graphic card I have, but it's powered by a program called NVIDIA. I don't see much difference so far as it wasn't the main problem. I believe the add mentioned that it had either a 2 or 4 GB graphic card - I bought it from HP (Envy)

That's pretty cool! I plan to build my own computer once I save up enough money (At least $2000) since I like building things rather than have them handed to me even if it costs more money.

Not necessarily. If you find a good deal like I did ($750 instead of $1150), you would definitely be better off. A "custom" built computer exactly like the one I have was also more expensive on the HP website.

Always shop and compare

That's good to hear. I think I'll probably need to get a new computer in a couple of years. It's cool to see that you have no problems recording PS1 games now, I wish I had that luxury.
