When it's Christmas or your birthday... Or other holidays, or just out of nowhere: There will be people who give you a gift. Gifts can be big or small, cool or beautiful, useful or decoration... But one thing is for sure: A gift is a gift. And the topic of this thread is, of course:

What was the best gift someone gave to you?

Mine was a 3DS XL. I got it recently, and although i already got a 3DS XL (Of which recently broke completely ) i can still do more things. Like Streetpass with myself. Or record my 3DS while playing a game. I don't know. A lot of features are unlocked for me now, as i leveled up back then.

I just found this picture and decided to share it.

My best gift ever? My 3DS XL of course! I am pretty sure it is going to break soon because of how many hours I have played it but it is still going strong!

Something that is useful to me I would be able to keep on using for years. That's the best ones I like receiving it could be clothes or something else which I can't really remember by sadly. I mostly get happy if its to do with games or anime though. XD

I'd have to say that the greatest gift that was ever given to me was on July 2nd of last year. We borrowed our neighbor's SUV and were on our way to the fireworks store about 90 miles away that we go to every year. We got behind schedule and we wound up leaving the house just as a bad storm blew up. When I say bad storm, I don't mean a little rain and some thunder, I mean the wind was blowing the trash cans away and sucking the doors open at the gas station. After we had made it over half way to Nashville, the weather finally caught up to us and our neighbor never replaces her tires, so between the rain slick interstate and the high wind, we were being tossed all over the road. At some point, the right rear tire blew and it threw us into the guardrail making us make two full revolutions in the middle of a busy interstate with about 4 big-rigs behind us, though none of them hit us. We wound up finally landing on the shoulder of the road with no serious damage to the vehicle, which I believe was a gift all by itself. A guy in a minivan with his family who saw the whole thing stopped to see if we were okay and gave us a ride to the next exit, dropping us off at a fast food place and insisted we take all the money he had on hand. I asked for his name and told him I'd pay him back in the future and all he said was pay it forward; give it to someone who needs it. We wound up spending hours waiting because the storm had caused a bunch of wrecks and a lot of roads were shut down because Obama was in town, but the fast food place was conveniently located right next door to a tire shop where we had the SUV towed to and the tire replaced, giving us a way back to the house.

As a mod I can indeed confirm that this thread exists, else I would not be looking at it right now. Closing at thread creator's request.

Oh wait...not what he meant...also I have no power in this forum. Technicalities. Bleh.

So does the gift have to be tangible? Because if it can be immaterial then I can list some really great gifts. But assuming it has to be a material gift that can be wrapped etc. then probably either my first Android phone or my PSTV bundle that I got last Christmas. I could also say the N64 I got as a kid or the PS2 and several games I received with it. Tough call.

I have gotten a lot of stuff simply because I'm 35 years old. I've seen 35 Christmases and birthdays and anniversaries and so on and so forth.

I was dating my girlfriend, now wife, and in our second year of dating, she bought me a PlayStation 2. I still have it. It's in my basement and I was playing some Hitman: Blood Money last night while dealing with a flu. It's been with me to Boston when we moved there. It's been around for almost as long as she has and it has survived the test of time. The hours of entertainment I've gotten from it and her awareness of my joys makes it the best gift I've ever gotten.
