So it's finally begun! XD The 2016 Olympics have officially begun their opening ceremony in Brazil, complete with a rainforest theme and future sustainability and global warming awareness message! While some of us are sad to see the spectacular acrobatic displays and colorful light shows end, others are even sadder to see Giselle's supposed last catwalk. Some of us wished the singing could last longer and the Parade of Nations never ceases to impress. For those that watched the opening ceremony, what was your favorite part of it? What Olympic events for this year are you looking forward to the most?

As usual, I'm looking forward to the gymnastics events.

For me it's basketball. Team Canada is out of the equation, so I'm mostly going to watch Team USA steamroll everyone (except maybe Lithuania, Spain, and France, who I'll also keep an eye on).

Besides that I'll be rooting for Novak Djokovic. I hope he can finally get a gold medal.

Oh man.....I really need to try and remember this more. I know it was like happening? But forgot since I hardly watch tv and all. I guess it would either be the running or the gymnastics I look forward too more. Those two are the ones I watch the most for the Olympic. I wonder now how different this will be and how it will engage the audience that watches from home. Lets see how England will do....

I really like watching the Football and Javelin Throwing games. Pole Vaulting will be pretty entertaining too.

Iceland all the way bby. I am actually rooting for a lot of countries.

Tennis, of course. Being my favorite sport is sure to be a favorite in this event as well. Besides that, I'll keep an eye on two things.

The first is the sports where Spain has the biggest chances at a medal. This includes basketball, waterpolo, swimming (female competition only) and badminton. I doubt we have a very great chance at anything else, since our triathlete was injured during training and thus had to resign.

The second thing is people who can achieve incredible milestones. This basically includes Phelps and Bolt, but I'm sure I'm forgetting some people as well.

About my favorite part of the opening ceremony... I didn't follow it that closely, I'm more for the Parade of Nations than anything else (and when the opening ceremony starts at 1 AM surely I'm not in the mood to watch anything beyond schedule). I liked a lot the heavy applause the Refugees received, but it's hard to tell if it was for them or for the host nation that was waiting to appear. I want to think the former, so I'll keep it as the best moment of the parade.

A mysterious guiderteer named EX Palen, and third in command. Every living being has preferences in everything, and Game Guide Writers are no exception. In the case of EX Palen, his preference for the several Playstation consoles drove him to serve as the official manager for those systems, having the perfect excuse to spot new games to write about before anyone else. I'm looking forward to water polo and rugby the most. Other than that, I really don't get into a lot of the Summer Olympic sports. I still watch a lot of the other sports, they just don't excite me too much.

I'm always intrigued by the races. I think people going after each other, with very little technology, is fun. It's just who's the fastest. Take the marathon, for example. There are no penalties or fouls. There's no style points. It's not gymnastics or equestrian where the style is the only way to win. It's just a bunch of people who are trying to run faster than each other.

I like that. I like the pure competition of wills vs. training and taking each other on, head to head.
