Now for my serious post. I'm concerned with the prime minister's wording. "Those who attempted this will pay the heaviest price", he stated. Doesn't sound like he's interested in spreading mercy here. Sure, maybe there's a need to fight, but that wording doesn't exactly help me respect the guy. I feel things may turn out violently because of this.

The coup is destabilizing now. There is going to be quite a bit of reckoning about this. The president of Turkey has been known to be heavy handed and I am quite sure all of NATO wants some answers.

2. My dad is Egyptian and since turkey and egypt are heavily connected he is passionate about the subject, which has made me interested in it as well.

It was kind of scary when I first learned about it over Twitter. Reports starting coming little by little, then major news outlet broke the news.

In a way I am disappointed the coup failed. Erdogan is a tyrant who censors free speech and does away with his country's tradition of secularism.
