Now that I've thought about this more I don't actually know anyone who has ever said to me "That person has a high post rating therefore their posts must be better quality than people with lower post ratings."


Also, I'm getting really tired of "post quality" conversations. Post quality is higher today than it probably ever has been because people are so terrified of "spamming". It's getting really old for me personally. Obviously there are certain threads where posting "farts" or "butts" would likely earn an a warning but there are other places where it is a perfectly acceptable thing to say and I ENCOURAGE people to have a bit more fun when they post.

It feels weird hitting the like button on anyone's posts in this thread

Anyway, making this thread was a great idea because I've seen the system get out of hand before. Some users get dislikes on their posts just because the person giving the dislike doesn't agree with their post or simply dislikes it. The purpose of the dislike button was to make posts more noticeable that are spammy or breaking rules.

In my opinion the like button can be kind of like trust points. The more popular a user is the more likely they are to get plenty of likes on their posts and the same happens with trust points sometimes.

The last time I recall doing anything actually BAD, like you know, one of my mental breakdowns, was around 5 months ago. I haven't had mental breakdowns since then. I am improving. I wouldn't say our recent "confrontations" really mean that I still do bad things. I'm not going to go into detail as to why, though.

Just a nitpick, but now that I think about it, a post "like" and a post "rating" are not really the same thing... I mean, there's a difference between rating a post on a scale of one to ten and saying you liked the post. I think crap posts are funny, but wouldn't rate them very high.
