ok maybe some of y'all've already heard me say this but i'm p thankful i have the parents i do since they're loving n accepting n all that awesome stuff i wish more folks were

now that that's outta the way i can conscientiously move on towards the complaints

tbh i'm gettin kinda tired of hearin my mom restate the fact that she's a stressed out university professor over n over again as if it's a legit excuse for screamin her lungs out @ me over (frankly) stupid crud on a regular basis

that might sound like somethin pertainin to the typical "teenage brat" stereotype everyone likes to pretend has no generally solid base or logical explanation for (*cough cough* hormones n puberty n bein introduced to the big scary world n suddenly bein called whiny + ungrateful instead of taken seriously *cough cough*) but wait for it

she yelled @ me incessantly this morning bc i forgot to make myself a bowl of damn cereal like

dude it's cereal?? wth chill... who berates their kid for forgettin to eat

I could be more formal and spend the extra time making sure I capitalize and punctuate what ought to be, but it would be frightening to think that whoever reads this would only spare my point condescension under that circumstance. Who cares? we ain't in buckingham palace people

anyway before y'all tell me to let her off the hook since it only happened once n there's probably something specific that's botherin her hear me out - this WASN'T the first time n it sure as hell ain't gonna b the last

as i implied earlier my mom gets angry and annoyed at me very often and it's usually due to really trivial nonsense including but not limited to:

- making jokes involving slight repetition and/or brief pauses

- asking completely normal questions such as "can i get _ from the fridge" whose answers are no and sure to be answered along with senselessly dramatic and loudly-voiced lectures mostly consisting of sentences ending with "in life" for added effect

tryin my best not to sound "bratty" here but bein shouted @ ain't fun man B( it's kind of hard to explain but it really feels bad n it can't b healthy havin to deal w/ that noise (no pun intended) on a day-to-day basis

it makes me not want to try new things @ all since i can only be so enthusiastic about asking for ~permission~ to do stuff these days considering my previous experiences 

it also makes me so nervous and on edge all the time?? 

i'm goin to canada on the 27th w/ my sister n my dad n i'm only tellin him about it then bc my mom won't b there to try n guilt me by callin me a tattletale or makin accusations about me "favoring" him since he's "the man" of the family or any other of that dumb junk she's tried to pull before

My father doesn't get angry, he's angry by nature. Talking to him is almost impossible, and needs an immense amount of patience that I sadly don't have.

My mother doesn't get angry, but she can become quite pissed when she wants to, even if it's for the lightest of things. What's worse, she scolds me continuously, even when she has said multiple times that she will "stop caring about what I do because I'm old enough to decide". And the way she scolds me gets me on my nerves... She does it in phases, with pauses that can go up to 10 minutes. Absolutely annoying.

You will have to bear with it, Kimmy. My only advice is that you manage to get a job and a life outside of that home so you can end this rather soon. Don't freak out and let them be, it will be worse if you enter the fray. That's how I deal with it, and so far is producing good results.

My dad gets frustrated and yells at everything, including inanimate objects.... except me and my siblings, for the most part. My mother is a senseless, raging drunk. Wanna get her started? Just say something that could be interpreted as critical of anything she does. I can't say I know your mother, but if she's for sure being completely unreasonable, try to sit down and have a rational discussion with her. And if that doesn't work, go to war with the b****. What's the worst that can happen, she grounds you? Play some head games. Me and my mother have been at each others throats for years, and I can tell you from experience that you haven't lost the battle until you've given up.

The only times my parents got angry when growing up was when I was a naughty kid and deserved it. Or when my father is fixing something at home and hurts him self and he curses all the words he can in ten seconds and yells and after that continue as nothing has happen. Kind a funny to see a grow man yelling for something and just stops and continue like nothings have happen

Sorry to hear your mom yells at you so much for silly things like that. My sister always complains that my parents do that to her, but what they yell at her for makes sense and is understandable.

It usually takes a lot for my parents to get angry with us. I don't get yelled at very much by them, but my sister and brother do constantly since they're both troublemakers on a regular basis :/ Today my sister was giving my dad nothing but attitude and eventually he couldn't take it so he screamed at her to stop. She still kept going! My parents and I are frustrated that we do so many favors for her but she gives back by stealing items from my parents' bedroom and occasionally mine too.

They can get very angry at times... usually at each other. I'm usually part of their conversation, and sometimes I get some of the anger. It's not fun, but recently I've been able to avoid most of it. 

Hopefully talking with your dad will make things better . And if it doesn't... then just ignore her :p. Or wear earphones XD.

Very.Mom's not so bad usually, but occasionally, she'll drop a punishment on me for some random minor slip up like forgetting to put away the dishes on time, or something like that.It's not so bad, just a bit frustrating at times.

Dad on the other hand, you just can't win with him, so I just try to keep my distance.He always believes that whenever I make a mistake, I did it on purpose and I'm just lying about it.Whenever I say that it wasn't my fault, he just tell me to shut the [insert preferred curse word here] up and it's really annoying.

But that's not even the half of it.He keeps asking me to help with any problems he has with his computer, because he seems content to just let me fix them and never find out how to do it himself, so, believe me, I have to fix stuff a lot.That wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have a certain way he thinks it should be fixed, and thinks I'm lying to get out of helping him whenever I tell him how to actually fix it.Then the name calling, I've gotten it all you name it, I've probably been called it.So basically, you have to tiptoe around him, because you never know when he'll go off.And that's not just me, that's me, my mom and my brother.

Oh well, such is the life I live .

My parents were always real cool, I mean yeah they didn't want me doing drugs, and drinking at a young age, and even though I started drinking at 17, they knew, but I was careful enough to not get caught or anything. My parents have been really mad at me for stupid things I have done in the past. Either fighting in school, getting bad grades, not doing homework, etc. They had the right to get mad at me over it too, but other then that, I have great parents, can't complain at all.

My mom can annoy me too. My advice; politely tell her to calm down or just leave the room immediately. That might help you. On the other hand.... You are visiting Canada? I'm Canadian! You'll love it here! It's quite a calm and interesting little country to reside in, miss.

Very angry. I even know her scale of my mothers anger. She's the one we most fear of. Because you know when she is really angry. Or just plain mad. And oh boy...when that happens watch out. When she is I give her space so then when she calms down I can ask what the matter is. And so she would tell me why she was so angry. But this doesn't happens it can happen at anytime or anywhere. With me misbehaving because I don't get listened too. Or if its to do with work. Or back home in Nigeria with a convo she has with my uncle who lives there. '-'

I'm grown and moved out now so it's a bit different - my parents still get angry, but it's different. I'm not under their roof anymore so i'm not under their rules. However, that doesn't mean we don't fight.

My mom's fairly calm, but can still get upset. Oddly though, she's calm in situations she should react, and she's upset in situations where she should be calm. 

My dad used to be very angry growing up, but now he's calmed down a bit (haha, age will do that! lol). We fight a lot though about a certain family issue, because we're both stubborn mules.

My parents never really got angry, but they did get upset sometimes. I was never really punished, just encouraged not to do it again.

To be fair, I wasn't always a model child.

welp, my mother and father divorced when I was 2 years old and my mother remarried when I was 5, That was a mistake for both her and me since we were abused until I turned 12 and punched him back.

Now at at 31, I don't live with my parents.

I still visit my parents though on occasions, and sometimes there is no problem, other times it's like I'm a kid again with the drama.

My parents are pretty calm and collected most of the time. Even when they're angry enough to yell, it's still in a rational and concise way. I don't think I've ever seen either of them truly "lose their cool." I've always liked that about them. No matter how bad things would get they'd always keep themselves under control.

The people that I love with are known to get quite angry a lot of the time, but the thing is most of the time they don't even know what's going on so 90 percent of the time its not even my fault. One day the TV wasn't working and they were yelling at me for an hour before they realizes that they forgot to pay the cable bill for that month. That's not even one of the dumber things that have happened with the people that I live with, it gets worse.

I personally call my father (not to his face, of course) grumpy. It seems like every little thing can make him angry, most of which is completely unjustified. It is worse than trying not to pop a balloon with a needle.

As for my mother, she always seems to be frustrated when she speaks. However her tamper is much easier to handle, mostly because she is 30 cm shorter than my father.

My mom not often, but she is a red chilly if she is angry.
