Okay so I'm trying to run Mp4s on my PS4, but I can't get the file type I need. Specifically the PS4 media player requirements to run Mp4, MKV, or any other video format are: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile Level4.2

I typically use Freemake, but it doesn't have an AVC option, instead it only offers Mp3, AAC, AC3, and FLAC.

Now bear in mind that I'm still running an old version of Freemake, and that I have no clue what any of those things mean. Lol If anyone can suggest a good video convertor so that I can transfer my videos to a flash drive and watch them on my PS4 (I need my RED!) that would be great.

Eirinn : I didn't understand half of what you said, but my brother uses Handbrake. It's an open-source freeware project and it's one of the very few free video converters out there without a bunch of virus crap in it. In fact, if you're more comfortable getting an installer from  someone who uses it instead of downloading it, I can upload to a site of your choice and send you the link.

As for the download, it doesn't matter one way or the other to me man. If you say it's safe then that's good enough for me.

Beware, turns audio bitrate down really far. Turn that back up manually via the audio tab and then bitrate. Also sometimes auto-crops it. Manage that from the main window.

yoshirulez! : That doesn't have the right settings either.. but with some research on this topic I got it to work still somehow. Thanks to you and your brother btw. I'll go back to Freemake for Mp3 though because I like it's layout and settings better, but this one is a must for Mp4s now. Thanks again.
