While Anime is artistic, dynamic, and large in quantity, many of the batch are truly never noticed. Obviously, we cannot watch every one in existence, but some worth viewing just pass right by us without so much as a glance. It is truly saddening. If you have watched any Anime that is quite good, but no one seems to mention, now would be the time to discuss it. I present you with this topic because I too desire something to watch. Something worth good viewing time. Through this, we should be able to spread the word on Anime we might have watched but other have seemed to miss. 

Which obscure, underrated Anime do you believe deserves viewing? What makes it worth watching and a cut above the rest? Please collaborate. Thanks for your feedback.

I'll pick an obscure 90s anime that I found because of a game here on vizzed.

Its called aah aah harimanada and its a yes predictable but still fun anime. I don't watch a lot of anime but I found that one enjoyable.

Ultrajeff :   I tend to lean more towards the ecchi style, but there are some great ones that are just fun to watch as well.  Jormungand was bloody and violent, but funny and just great to watch.  Berserk is a more well known anime, but such a great one.  Very bloody and violent again, but such a great story.  One of my first anime to watch that really got me hooked was called Sekirei.  Great action but lots of fan service, and the story is superb.  I have watched it a few times now just because I liked it so much.  3x3 Eyes was awesome all around.  Great action for being an older title, but another great one.  Wicked City...not sure if it's obscure, but a true anime fan knows it.  Made in the 80's I believe.  It's a movie so it won't take all day to watch.  Very bloody and action packed with some nudity.  A must watch though.  Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai is a funny/romantic perverted anime much like Rosario Vampire and the High school DxD series.  Lots of action, cheesy storyline (but good none the less) and lots of confusion and misunderstandings between the characters.  Macademi Washoi was funny and lots of action, very much like the a fore mentioned anime with lots of misunderstandings that lead to comical responses and consequences.  Dance in the Vampire Bund was a really good one.  Angel Beats was one of the few that made me cry at the end.  A must watch.  It's a high school anime about where you go after death.  interesting and lots of action, but a very sad ending.  That's it for now, but I have hundreds to talk about if you ever need more to watch.  Let me know what you are into, so I can pick more appropriate ones for your taste

Hmmm not sure if any of the anime I myself have seen can be considered obscure, however I will list some anime that I personally have liked, but hardly see in any conversation related to anime. Please excuse me if they're not considered "obscure"(though I'm almost positive they are)

1. Big Windup: By sports anime standards. I consider this fairly obscure. It's overshadowed by others of the genre. Personally it's one of my favorite sports anime. Nicely animated, with great characters, and plot(well as much plot as a sports anime can have).

2. Hanayamata: A slice of life(cute girls doing cute things) anime about Yosakoi dancing. I find it highly adorable and heartwarming. Really love the artstyle, has great music, and is really nice to just sit back and watch.

3. Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: A magical girl anime that's more similar to Madoka Magicka than any other of the series though not nearly as dark.

Overall I find all of these anime to be pretty solid. There are probably more but these are the ones that popped out in my head while typing this.
