Star Wars Episodes IV, V, and VI. They were jaw-dropping, visually spectacular, well-written, interesting films which have a lot going for them. Episode IV was the first, paving the way with its groundbreaking narrative and special effects, and establishing the stories of the Jedi, Rebel Alliance, Empire, and galaxy at large. Episode V was a bit subdued, but ultimately more satisfying in the end, thanks to its darker storytelling and world-building.  Last but not least, Episode VI rounded out the trilogy by giving us a decisive conclusion to all the characters story arcs and finding a creative way to end the story (Endor, Death Star II, etc) . They all were spectacular films but I'd like to know which was your favorite.

Which of these is your favorite and why so? Are there any OT characters you'd like to see in Episode VIII? Please elaborate and thanks for sharing.

My favorite was always Episode 6. I always loved how the story came together. Also I'm a big fan of Luke and Vader's last moments together. The way the emperor gets what's coming to him is great XD.

I also can't wait to see Mark Hamill in the next movie

I never saw either of the 3 original movies in full, but saw enough of each one and my favorite is the original Episode IV. I remember watching the first few scenes of episode IV recently actually, like a few months ago, and it was really well done.

Episode 5 is the best made movie out of the original trilogy. It is generally voted as the best of the original trilogy and of the series overall whenever the question is asked of fans.

It is NOT my favorite movie though. My favorite movie is number 6. However, that doesn't change the fact that I think Episode 5 was the best made movie of the entire series.

My favourite original star wars film would be episode 6, an amazing film every way you look at it imo.

I do 100 percent agree with mynamescox on this subject so I'll just leave it at, this is an amazing movie, and I liked darth vader's character developement

I would also like to agree with geeo as well, even though episode 6 is an amazing movie, episode 5 was better made.

I liked Episode VI, but absolutely loved Episode IV. It had so much energy and the story felt like it just glided along instead of being clunky. And the music was just absolutely awesome, but then that's to be expected when you have John Williams composing.

It would be either episode 4 or 5 to be honest. 4 mostly because it help introduce the series, in which we got our iconic characters, such as Luke Skywalker (helps us introduce Anakin Skywalker), Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO,R2-D2, and the most important character in the series, Obi Wan Kenobi. It had at least iconic scenes, such as the introduction scene, Luke staring up in the sunlight, the bar scene, rescuing Leia, "I got em" scene, and the use the force scene. It also had an original story, which helped the series even more. It felt like our childhoods has been glistened... with the Star Wars Theme music
However, I also like episode 5, because it was the most iconic of the series, and the last scene as well though...

Personally, I can't decide on my favorite of the original trilogy. Episode IV's incredible beginning to the story and epic plot line were absolutely riveting, and being introduced to the main cast was absolutely phenomenal. I loved seeing the struggle of the main protagonists getting to know each other, figuring out how to work with one another, and eventually toppling an enemy that seemed so much greater than they could hope to face alone.

Then, in episode V, we get to see some really brutal actions at the hands of the Empire with the Battle of Hoth, and the heroes retreat and scatter across the galaxy. We get to see an old favorite from the first three movies passing on the knowledge of his fallen order to a new generation, only for his pupil to be forced into leaving when his allies are in danger, leading to a climactic and plot-twisting battle at the end that shows just how much farther our main protagonist has to go.

Then in episode VI, the entire thing ends in one final showdown, with both sides throwing everything they have at each other, and in the end everything turns out great, and , of course, we finally get to see the adorable creatures that would make absolutely perfect pets: Ewoks.

So yeah, really, I can't decide on a favorite. I love them all. xD
