I prefered to play Mortal Kombat growing up... and I think the MK movies are better than the Street Fighter ones.

But I think the Street Fighter series is overall better. Mortal Kombat sort of died off after the SNES games....

Im going to have to go with Street Fighters. I like the feel of it better than the Mortal Kombat games although most people probably don't feel that difference since it's not that big. I love the brutality of MK though. Over the top . The movies were horrible for both of them...

Add to that SF manga, the anime series, SF crossover games (like Marvel VS Capcom. a fighter with both Spiderman and Mega Man? WIN!) and the fact that it's by Capcom makes it so much better.
