When I first heard something about a leak about a year ago with goku and vegeta having blue hair I thought they had ran out of ideas for fake news. But then about a week later a official picture came out with goku having blue hair I thought it looked stupid plus I could not believe they made another super saiyan form right after Battle Of Gods. Then months past and I finally got to see the movie and I was furious about SSJGSS the movie gave no explaining at all on how Goku and Vegeta had learned of it or how to use it. Then I watched the ROF arc in DBS hoping they would show how they got it and if I remember right they did train in 1 place where there was god ki around them but they never transformed while in that place they just busted it out when Frieza went gold. Then they started calling it "Super Saiyan Blue" which I hate even more then the long name of "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan" and I like normal SSJG better. But how do you guys feel about SSJGSS?

I wasn't really a fan of the new transformation after having the Super Saiyan God transformation being so new. Then to have Vegeta skip over it and go straight to SSGSS was dumb.

I do prefer the new name though. I hated saying the old one.

I just completed another DBZ related rant on another of your threads, so I'll try to keep this shorter. XD

I honestly didn't mind the transformation itself, or even the name, which is pretty ridiculous, it really should have just been Super Saiyan God, not Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. The problem I had was (Rant time!) that after learning that a SSJG form was even possible, they figured out how to do it in, like, 10 minutes. And then when he went to fight Frieza, I swear it was the same exact fight as when he fought Frieza on Namek. They did the exact same moves, the same attacks, the same tricks, all just done with more power. I honestly was bored, it was a horrible fight.

I was massively disappointed in the movie, and this is coming from a long time fan of everything Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, most of the video games, all the movies (Well, most. XD), and even DBGT. Now, I'm glad they're still making new movies, and new games, I don't want them to ever stop, just that the two newest movies were garbage (in my opinion), compared to, like, most of the other movies. I think the reason they got so much attention was that it had been a long time since the last DBZ movie, and... That's probably it. XD (Also, there are people who genuinely enjoyed them.)

I mean, if you liked the movies, that's fine, I didn't. I also tried to watch Super, but had to stop after a couple of episodes... I might finish it... But I really have very little interest in Beerus, even if he voiced by Jason Douglas, who I really like. Well, to be fair, I like Beerus when he's not talking about food, unfortunately though, that's very rare, as just about every thing he says is food related. It was a funny quirk at first, but not it seems to be his defining characteristic, which makes him boring, at least to me.

This transformation was kind of expected. We saw Goku master the Super Saiyan transformation prior to the Cell Games, and after Battle of Gods he again had a technique to master and free time for it.

I just see it like I see the Super Kaio-ken (Super Saiyan + Kaio-ken, seen only once in the anime). Two powerful transformations/power-ups mixed into a single form for a massive power increase. In Super Kaio-ken, Goku had the typical Kaio-ken aura and hair color, but his hairstyle was that of his Super Saiyan form. This time, they thought that the godly Ki would give him a different aura, and thus decided to put it a different hair color to distinguish it from the traditional form, in a way Full Power Super Saiyan also had changes (slight, but noticeable) regarding the traditional form (and Full Power Super Saiyan is also the mastery over an initial transformation that enabled to fight longer and more efficiently).

The worst of all of this is the chronology, because they have literally scrapped GT with all these new transformations beyond anything else. I really hate it when new material has to scrap what has happened on a later time but given to us earlier than it should. If all they wanted was to include another universe, they could have included an alternate version of the characters possessing all these transformations and all the complaints heard would be "this universe is BS".

As for Vegeta getting the transformation out of nowhere, like if that's not the first time we've seen it. Super Saiyan 2 Goku and Vegeta didn't undergo the mental upheaval Gohan underwent (and technically is a requirement to unlock the transformation), and not to talk about all the new transformations in Dragon Ball Heroes (Super Saiyan 4 Future Gohan, what the hell?). I do think the time span for this movie was very short for both Goku and Vegeta to have made such progress, not even during the Cell Games did they make such progress and they trained for several years.

And well, next time we receive a new transformation, please make it useful. SSJG wasn't enough for Beerus, and SSJGSS wasn't enough for Golden Frieza, even less for Beerus. We do know where is this heading to: SSJGSS Gogeta, as he's the only one powerful enough. And no, I don't like that at the slightest.

EX Palen : I never really thought about it like the super kaio-ken. I really miss kaio-ken they should bring it back. Anyway I kinda like how there making it so GT could never happen I mean Super Saiyan 4 is cool besides that I don't like that much from GT

Really? Again? : whoops forgot to reply to you earlier anyway I really like battle of gods it's 1 of my favorite movies ever not just in Dragon Ball I mean like out of all movies. I agree on ROF that fight was awful and my favorite villain is Frieza. I would recommend watching the new stuff in super and just skipping the BOG& the ROF arcs.

Kaio-Ken was sort of a pointless thing though. It could only be maintained for a very short period of time according to the original training that Goku got. It was only meant for 5 seconds of a burst of power and speed (or however long it lasted). Super Saiyan could be maintained almost indefinitely based on Goku and Gohan's training. This technique made you 50 times more powerful in it the first form it used. BIG difference.

I liked Kaio Ken but it was a way to get them through the fight against Vegeta. Super Saiyan was used in a pretty similar way against Frieza honestly.

First time I heard about ''super saiyan god super saiyan'' I was like damn they are really running out of inspiration.

I do think that its good that they dropped the super saiyan god super saiyan name, even though it was out of nowhere.

I am a sucker for the colour, though so this is probably my favourite looking super saiyan.

I absolutely hated normal super saiyan god.
But, they are relying on transformations now, just look at them bringing back the kaio-ken.
What do I think about it? It looks cool, but it wasn't necessary at all.

I really loved the color, but aside from that, it felt kind of meaningless. I mean how many "Super Saiyan" levels can there possibly be? Will there one day eventually be SSJBSSLBTSSJFK?? I mean it's getting to be a little over the top in my opinion. I'd like to see more abilities like the Kaio-Ken being used over simple transformation after transformation stacked upon each other. But that's just me.

Um...I was rather shocked actually I was talking to my siblings about that before and one of them sent. A picture of goku with blue hair and I was like come on really?...I wasn't excited that's how I felt. Everyone is different right? Some would be excited for it while others nope. '-'

I didn't really like it that much until after the fight with Hit. For some reason, after that fight I warmed up to it a lot more. I also warmed up to the opening too lol. But during the fight with Golden Frieza I had wished they done more with the original Super Saiyan God.

In my opinion I think the creators are running out of ideas and forms for Goku and the Z warriors. I say this because the amount of super sayian forms is getting out of hand and it's clear the plot/story of dragon ball super is going nowhere fast. In addition the new super sayian god form might have seemed cool on paper but it's extremely op and unnecessary after all wouldn't goku in his normal form be strong enough to handle just about any enemy given on how hard he's trained to reach super sayian god.
