I've added a new Contribution Point Action titled 'Character Bio'. This action is for writing Character Biographies and Information which go in the new Game Characters forum.

To create Biography or Information thread for a video game character, find the video game character you want to write one for in the Video Game Characters feature and then click the 'Write a Biography' link found on the character's page (to find a character you first have to click the franchise the belong in but if you can't find their franchise then they might be in the NO FRANCHISE section. All biographies for a character will appear on the character's page.

Before the only way you could write a biography for a character was by editing the character's page and only staff members were able to do that. Not only that but there wasn't a specific action for it and the payout wasn't adjusted properly and it was just inconvenient having to write up a fancy biography in such a small little box and the bio writer didn't get credit.

The payout for a 'Character Bio' is the same as Articles and Reviews, which is 0.05 CP and 5 Viz per a word (but with no base charge). The daily limit is higher than those actions. You can read more about the action and its daily limits here:

Om average, how long should some of the bios be in terms of word count?

zanderlex : I haven't really put much thought into guidelines yet. For now they can be any length and users can even make more than 1 bio per a character if they find it necessary.

Davideo7 : Sorry for annoying you again but are the biographies like actual biographies or are they just like descriptions? Like what do we do about characters there are multiple of or so or people with no information like villagers from animal crossing or Muton Berserkers from Xcom or people with no definitive origin really like pac-man.

I wrote a bio for every overlooked Pokémon character I submitted during a screen shot character tagging competition a couple years back. It was such a downer that those bio parts of my submissions never got published when the info of them was fresh in my mind. At last, it is fixed.

I may just go there this week and make sure my submitted characters have themselves a proper bio for the first time. Off I go. This is a great undertaking in Pokémon history. My journey starts now!

I just posted a bio for a character under the Pokemon franchise but it was posted under a different game entirely. A game that has no connection at all to Pokemon. Can this be fixed?
