This is a story of the day I made my worst decision ever. As most people know, I do a lot of work with the stock market, and this day was the biggest day of my life. I'm only learning about it now, 2 years later, but it was something that will forever haunt me.

I really liked this penny stock, called Primco Managment, it was a penny stock, worth about 2/10 of a cent per share that had tons of potential, so I bought like 500 shares. The prices started going up so I bought more.

On February 12th, 2014 I bought another 20,000 shares. It cost me $40.95. The price started going up, so a little more than a month later, I decided to sell them, I sold all 20,510 shares I owned for $88.19 on march 27th, 2014. The price went from $0.0019 per share to about $0.0042 per share, more than doubled... But then things got out of hand.

The price jumped, and I mean it SKYROCKETED. Just 5 days later, on April 1st, 2014, the price of one share went from less than half a cent, to more than $5!!! Only 5 days after I sold all of them. On that day, the stock closed at an astonishing $5.70 per share, before plummeting back to $0.002 a month later.

$5.70 per share!!! 20,510 shares. That's more than $116,000!!! I would have had that if I waited just a few more days. I would have been rich!

NOooooooooooooOOOOOOoOOOOO!!!!  That's quite a tale.  Just a few days.  Dude.  I'm sorry about that.  But maybe you'll find another opportunity like this in the future.

zanderlex : I may not know how the stock market works, but my gosh I feel bad for you considering you missed out in such a huge gain in money. But hey I guess things like this happen from time to time in the stock market, so maybe some other time maybe you decide to not sell them and end up getting them worth $10 per share.......could happen ^^

Wow that's horrible. How often do stocks increase that much after a few days?
Do you remember why you sold them instead of waiting until the prices started dropping? Or are you supposed to sell them before they start to drop?

earthwarrior : I sold them because the price doubled, from .002 to almost .005, so i got twice as much back.

A stock never makes that much, even if a big company rises by like $10, that's nothing because they were already worth a lot, we're talking about a price that went from half a cent to 5 dollars in just 5 days, that's a 100,000% raise. Companies like Apple and Google are considered lucky if they just get a 10& raise in a whole year!

Just think of it, I only spent $40 on that, and that was during the middle of a college semester! If I had spent my entire financial aid refund on this, and just waited a couple extra days, I would have literally had millions.

This is why I'd never get into stocks. They're too unpredictable and every decision can have a huge impact. I hate having to live with regret and when you deal with stocks, you're facing regret all the time.

Davideo7 : I did the math, and if I spent all the money that I got from my Financial aid surplus, which was only $200, and I waited, I would have made 6... Million... At the time I was content with doubling what I pulled in, but its times like these where I wish I had a time machine so I could slap myself in the face.

You are being way too negative.
You made a profit. That's more than most people can say about stocks these days. :3

That's extremely rough, but try not to get stuck on it. I like to play the "what if" game (ie: What if I had done this) and then I just end up living in the past. Not saying I'd be able to let it go easily either if I was you, so I can definitely sympathize.
