I just started watching a while back but after the introduction arc the two following the (the guy trying to bring back his lost love and the chimera arcs) I though were really creepy is the show always like that or is it just on occasion.

shadowlink42 : I wouldn't say it stays creepy. Whether you're watching FMA or FMA : Brotherhood (the story is completely different between the two after the chimera arc), there will be periods where things can get a little dark. But there are also times when the show is very uplifting and care free, in my opinion. I think it starts that way to add depth and realism to the characters, and show you how serious the tone of the show is. It really makes you feel for ed and al when they find out who the chimera is :'(
But most anime fans would definitely recommend watching at least FMA Brotherhood all the way through.

I personally prefer Brotherhood a lot more because it follows the storyline from the manga more closely and didn't change the ending of the story as much as the first FMA did, but the first FMA is still watchable in that it did a fairly good job of setting up some parts of the story (for instance, some parts about Maes Hughes).

I feel the same way about Full Metal Alchemist except I personally feel that because of this I enjoy it more than Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood which is so much more uplifting compared to the original. Its not that creepy. Its more of a dark, but there are some creepy moments I feel that happen in that anime. The one we all know of which I shall not name was a really sad scene of what happened there. I like the anime but I couldn't finish watching it for various of reasons. It depends, FMA Brotherhood is a lot creepier than the older Anime, I wouldn't really call the old one creepy, but that chimera episode, that thing was sickening.

I dont find it very creepy.

I found it more sad/depressing than creepy. Without giving any spoilers, I would like to say there are a few parts that make you feel sad because of what the characters have been through as well as events in the anime. Then again, I suppose it depends on your definition on creepy and what else you find creepy.
