Issues with File Server = Slow Game Downloads

The main file server, Vizzed.net, is currently down after Hostgator did some maintenance. This means that all RGR game files are being loaded from my get-your-rom.com server. This will most likely cause game files to take longer than normal to download and it may also cause some games to not download at all. All of the RGR games actually stopped working for about an hour earlier but once I realized it, I quickly changed the default file server to the GYR server.

For those wondering, the maintenance involves fixing a PHP issue on the server. The reason the Java games haven't been working for the past 2 months is because there's a PHP issue on the Vizzed.net server. 2 months ago I got a new server which would be in charge of most of the game files on the site but for some reason the Java games stopped working because of it (which I eventually found out was due ot the PHP issue).

Hopefully the issue will be fixed during the weekend. I'll make a separate thread once the maintenance is complete.

The screen was fully grey, while below it showed a message saying something about the Vizzed server (though it didn't say "failed to find" or anything of the sort). Some days I even gave up in trying to play them, but on others I managed to get them to work.

I hope this clears out all those problems. I don't care if the downloads take a longer time as long as I can safely play the games.

I haven't really noticed too many issues loading games other than occasionally having the DL fail, but it always worked the second time around unless there was something wrong with the Rom/iso itself.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the file server. We had already gotten a couple PM's in the Staff inbox about the problem. Glad to hear that this might get the Java emulators working again though! Great news!

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
