Okay. #1, I think you're taking this game way too seriously. #2, I don't think you know what you're talking about in terms of Yu-Gi-Oh, even with my limited knowledge of the series. #3, A thread like this should probably go in the Christian Conservatives forum, with the stance it takes.
Shadow Duels are only instigated by evil people in the series, and that's the only time where a person's soul is at stake. A normal duel, which is far more common than a Shadow Duel, does not have any consequences aside from losing the duel.
Also, I don't understand why the "offensive to Christians" argument is here. There isn't a single anti-Christian thing in Yu-Gi-Oh, as far as I can tell. It's a fictional world that is very different from our own, so why are you so offended that it doesn't follow the rules of the real world and your religion?
I still don't understand why you tried to equate a card game with violence. These children know they aren't actually hurting the other player, they just play to win because it's fun. They imagine that they're dueling like the characters from the show because it's fun to do so, and because they like the show. Any child with the intelligence to play Yu-Gi-Oh in the first place will be able to tell the difference between fantasy and reality.
I'm sorry, but I completely disagree with your opinion on this matter, and this post should hopefully show why. Fiction is just that: fiction. If people are so easily influenced that they will believe that they will legitimately kill their friend if they win a Yu-Gi-Oh card game, then why is it that history films and things like that aren't banned? Seeing all those people shooting for the Confederacy will make them start shooting for the Confederacy too, by that logic.
