As of January 15th, what is quite possibly the greatest compilation of general knowledge ever created: Wikipedia - The Free Encyclopedia, has been online for 15 years. Wikipedia has been one of my favorite sources of information for a long time, and played a huge role in my studies being that I was home schooled. I know that I'm a couple days slow, so happy late 15th birthday, Wikipedia. Having over 38 Million articles in over 250 different languages, I would be willing to bet that everyone on the site has learned a thing or two from it. So, what are some things that Wikipedia has helped you empower yourself with?

Wow, I almost can't believe that it is 15 years old. It just seems strange to think it's been around that long. Although it wasn't overly popular in the very early years likely because of a lack of content. However, I find myself more and more often using it to check up on things that I'm not familiar with. It really is a great site and nice to have it around for 15 years now.

I love using Wikipedia! I use Wikipedia whenever teachers let me for research in projects. I also like using Wikipedia for everyday purposes like finding out someone's birthday or how long some person has played for a basketball team. Wikipedia is about as old as me!

Hooray for schools giving false information about Wikipedia being unreliable just because anyone can edit it. In reality, only 90% of Wikipedia is false. Also, this site is as old as I am. Never thought it was THIS old. o-o

It's a good site for general information, When it comes to health I rely on WebMd and for things I need to be sure are facts, I use .org and the Linccweb. But, Wikipedia definitely paved the way for people to look online for more information and knowledge, not to mention WikiLeaks. I like this site and hopefully it has many more years.

Wow, it's older than I thought it was! Wikipedia is a mixture of reliable in some cases, and unreliable in others. It's fun to quickly read up on something that I am curious about on there though. I don't tend to use it for school reports because schools hate it. But it isn't as faked as some people think...That is, if you stick to obscure topics anyway.
