Please read the Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Hebrew versions of the The ten commandments if you never have, and the following before answering.

Here are the Second Ten Commandments in Exodus 34;
* Thou shalt worship no other god (For the Lord is a jealous god).
* Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
* The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep in the month when the ear is on the corn.
* All the first-born are mine.
* Six days shalt thou work, but on the seventh thou shalt rest.
* Thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, even of the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.
* Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread.
* The fat of my feast shall not remain all night until the morning.
* The first of the first fruits of thy ground thou shalt bring unto the house of the Lord thy God.
* Thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother's milk.

They are pretty much the same aren't they?

The protestant, roman catholic, and hebrew versions are 'pretty much' the same, but they're also wrong. The 'real commandments' as 'set on stone' are the ones listed above. Those include; "Do not cook lamb in goat'smilk."

You haven't cooked any lamb in goatsmilk lately, have you?

Can I say, don't abandon the whole thing, but no need to follow the rules because of Christ.

I feel the old testament showldn't be followed exactly, but they give good insight in how things let up to Jesus, and often the Nes testament quotes and uses examples from the old, and there much easier to understand if you read it. And as for books like Psalms and Proverbs, well there not laws for the Hebrews, there songs of prais to God, they help you undertand what type of persone he is, because God didn't change, humains and curcumstances have, so he deos have to changes the rules now and then, but those songs and proverbs of love for God, they're still interesting to read and helpful to read. After all, “ALL scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.”—2 Timothy 3:16, 17. Notice ALL, and Jesus himsefl called the Old testament scriptures. So I Agree with Lowell when he sais that the Old testiment is out of date for listening to it's laws, but I wont hate somthing God ispired to write for our well being.

How about undecided... there is no undecided.

I'm going to have to go home and read over some chapters in Exodus.... but, if I recall correctly, there is a good reason for what happened with the stone tablets and the commandments and so forth...

I'll go read up on it when I have time, and give a better response than what has been given here

why does this matter?

to Christians that law of Moses (ie ten commandmets, sacrifice laws) are all done away with when Christ came and died.

so, who cares if there are 2 "versions".... there were hundreds of commandments that the Jews had to follow back then... so what if there was 2 versions of the now called 10 commandments.... I just don't see why it matters now
