Who are your favorite actors to play the bad guys in movies? Whether its one bad villain or one out of many actors to play the same villain who is better at the role than the rest.

My favorite is Javier Bardem, he had done a great job as one of the best Bond villains ever in Skyfall and he had also done a great job as well in No Country For Old Men.

I also really liked Jared Harris as Professor Moriarty in A Game of Shadows. You could put any of those two in any movie to make it ten times better.

Who is your favorite?

Allan Rickman, while not always "the" villain (RE: Harry Potter), had some memorable performances as one. My favorite will always be the Sheriff of Nottingham in the 1991 version of Robin Hood. Another actor playing the part just would not have been the same.

Oh yeah, I forgot about him, he did great with that role, but he wasn't much of the villain overall, just mean.

Alfred Molina was a FANTASTIC choice to cast the character of Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2. He's one of my favorite villain actors of all time. There's just something about the way he acts that makes me love him so much.

LunarDarkness2 : Eh, I don't know what it is about superhero movies, but I don't like the villians, because well, they have powers. I prefer a human or close to human villian because they need to come up with creative evil plans without powers so the stuff they do from scratch is usually better than the superhero stuff in my opinion, and way more evil.

There are a lot of great ones to choose from so I will just list a few.

Dennis Hopper -

Anthony Hopkins - Hannibal Lecter anyone? Don't forget he also played Ex-president Nixon as well.

Daryl Hannah - Her role in Blade Runner is amazing! Same with Kill Bill!

Jack Nicholson - Do I even need to point out all his great villain roles? He's probably my favorite villain actor of all time.

I will also note, that for at least one movie, Frank Langella was AMAZING as skeletor, in that TERRIBLE 80's movie of "Masters of the Universe" He's got a few monologues in that movie that are just AMAZING and really, he's the only one that saves that whole movie.

Thomas F. Wilson - He plays Biff Tannen in Back to the Future in a way that makes you hate him and love him (in a strange way) at the same time. He's got to be on this list.

Christopher Lee - I mean this guy is a true legend in ever sense of the word. If Jack is not #1, then this guy has to be in the running. Too many accomplishments to list.

John Malkovich - More of the same.

I really could go on and on. But I will leave these for now.

janus : I've never heard the HP books, but I think Alan did a marvelous job in hiding the fact that Snape isn't a villain. Up until just about the end he definitely had me fooled.

My favorite villain would have to be Heath Ledger in Batman, or Eleanor Audley who does the voice of Maleficent in Sleep Beauty.

I haven't watched much films but Arnold Schwarzenegger as the original T-800 in the first terminator film is just right for the part, not for his acting ability he just manages to fit the part of a robotic killer on one objective quite well.

I'd have to say my favorite actor for a villain is Jeremy Irons, the voice of Scar from The Lion King. I've said many times that The Lion King is my favorite animated movie of all time, and Scar, being in my opinion the greatest Disney villain of all time, is a big reason for why I love The Lion King so much.

I enjoy watching Denzel Washington play the role as the villain not only because of his unique voice and great acting but because from what I've heard he prefers to play as a villain in movies. He has brilliantly played as both hero and villain in a majority of the movies he has been in.
