I went to Dunkin Donuts today, not just any location, but the one I always go to, and it was something I knew I was going to regret, and I did. Dunkin Donuts in general is the worst, but this one location takes stupidity to a whole new level. Take what happened today for instance.

I tried to get a new perks card today, and I put 10 dollars on it. But guess what happens? I ended up waiting in the store for like an hour waiting for someone to fix the card because it says that the card needs to be registered. I showed them my phone showing that the card was registered and that it said I needed to take the card into the store so they can activate it. An hour later, the manager comes and takes my card saying its no good and throws it out and gets me a new cars. Funny thing is, she says there's nothing saying that I put the money onto that card, so the money is gone and I have to put money on the new card also.

It gets worse because they didn't even hobo their biggest promotion. Everywhere, on the posters, on the website, and in emails, it says that the day after the Jets or Giant win a game, you get a coffee for 25 cents when you swipe your card and pay with your card, but the manager, THE MANAGER, who happens to be the one who threw out my card, said that the website and all the posters are lying. She says that you need to print out a coupon, (which never existed) and then pay with cash after you pay with your card. And how would that even work in the first place???????

That wasn't the first time that this same location screwed up, just a month or two ago for free coffee day I had a huge problem when ot came to wait times, and prices. Here was another time they didn't honor a promotion because one person said you had to buy something to get a coffee, one person said other things, and orders kept getting mixed up, so I had 3 different orders given to me before I even got the 1 cup of coffee, and they made me pay for the orders that weren't mine, which still went to other customers in the end. It was so bad, that someone high up in the company responded to my rampaging tweets and asked me to contact them to settle things. I'll admit though, I forgot to do it.

Other times, this place will find a way to make you wait longer, or to overcharge you, or just staff members having fun. Back when they had almond milk, which was free, all sorts of stuff went down. Some staff did what they were supposed to and replaced milk with almond milk when you asked, while others came up with random excuses. Some said you could only get almond milk if you bought an extra large coffee, some charges random amounts for the almond milk from 75 cents to $1.50. One time when I got almond milk, one staff charged the $1.50, the then manager saw that and stopped the order, firing that staff right there.

That's just a small selection of the many things they do which also includes not allowing the promotions for free stuff when you fill out the surveys on the backs of receipts, saying they gave you change when they didn't, and even saying that certain drinks can't be bought unless you buy two of them or buy food with them.

zanderlex : Thats....thats really stupid I am sorry you went through that. Not so long ago this happened with me my mum and the girls. We went to pizza hut. That pizza hut I have been too for many years changed their decor and it looks much more better. I would like to say the same for the service. But It was poor. Its like they have gone downhill. When my mum asked for the bill and we were the second to last people to leave the restaurant. The waiter said that he was coming, and then still continued to wipe the table for a table that wasn't seated full of people. I understand that they are cleaning for the next days service, but at least tend to the people that needs to pay first before getting to them late. Which they didn't do on time. Its really silly how people in places can be nowadays. >.>

Luckily I'm Canadian so we get Tim Hortons instead of Dunkin Donuts. Although the one time I went to the US and went to Dunkin Donuts I was actually really, really dissapointed. All of my friends in the states hyped it up so much saying that anything and everything on the menu is better then everything at Tim Hortons. I swear they have the driest, most disgusting donuts i've ever tasted and their coffee is just god awful.

As for your entire story, I've worked at places like a Dunkin Donuts before and its not always the employees fault when it comes to that kind of stuff, but then I saw that it was the manager that was giving you the issue. That's just retarded on his/her end, 999/1000 times a manager is trained and has done every single thing possible so that when they have to deal with an issue it gets solved in a heartbeat. Either the manager was from another store and was just hired, or they're just lazier then a walrus, which in that case we all have those days. 

A manager fired someone infront of you?! That's illegal and immoral in so many ways I couldn't even imagine what that person had to go through. It's embarrassing enough getting fired from places like that, but to be fired publically and in-front of everyone is just flat out wrong. The managers at Dunkin Donuts dont sound too too bright in the slightest. Ya'll should close it down like Canadians did to Target.

Domdof : Well, the person was basically stealing money. I think we have a few Tim Hortons here but I don't know if I ever went to one of them before.

WHat was wrong with Target? Target is the best.

zanderlex : Target was much more expensive in Canada and just a waste of space, no one ever really shopped there. IF you ever wanted to make free money you had to go work at Target. As for going to a Tim Hortons in the US, don't judge Tim Hortons solely on that store because i've had US Tim Hortons and it's not the same, as odd as that sounds. If you ever do go to Canada, you'll be able to tell right away, the difference is very odd  to be honest. I have no idea what we do to our coffee here, but it should be illegal.

Domdof : Really? We have like a dozen different Targets and they are all jam packed. It's the largest department store chain here.

zanderlex : I went to Target a few times while it was here in Canada and I never saw more then 15 people in the entire store. Target was basically the only store of its kind around here that wasn't really a "supermarket". Target had everything every other store had, for 1.5x the price. The only people I did see shopping there too were either too rich to care, or old and clueless.

Domdof : ????? 1.5X the price? It's nothing like that over here, that sucks. Everyone goes to Target here for all the super discounts, heck most of the food and drink items are at least half the price that you would find at a regular deli or supermarket, or a small place like Walgreens/Rite Aid

zanderlex : Out of curiosity, do your Target stores have Deli/bakery/seafood departments? Because around where I live they didn't have any of those things. It was basically a cracked down Wal-Mart that was much more expensive.

Domdof : I think some might. They also have Pizza Huts and Starbucks as well.We aren't allowed to have Walmarts here.

Well then, that was...er...interesting. Sounds like someone didn't know how to do their job right. Honestly man, I would just say avoid the place. Don't go back, I mean really it doesn't sound like it's worth it. Besides I've never tasted a Krispy Kream that was very good at all, let alone worth all of that nonsense.

Eirinn : Krispy kreme is better but it's soooo far away. I might go there though next time, take a bus and two trains just for a donut.

My bad, you said Dunk in Donuts. xD I read it as Krispy Kreme somehow. Oh well, I don't like Krispy Kreme, and no donut is worth that much hassle.

zanderlex : The crazy thing is that you are far away from a Krispy Kream. Where I live, there is a Krispy Kream near where I live and it's the only Krispy Kream in the New Orleans area. I have went there. They do have pretty good donuts and really good staff. I think it really depends on where you live on how the staff treats their customers. There is a Dunkin Donuts a bit away (not too far, but it is still quite a drive from where I live), but I haven't really had a chance to go, not sure why.

Still, I think you should of got better, that was a waste of $10 there.
