Less than 2 months ago, the internet speed of the Xfinity Blast Pro was increased from 50 MBPS to 105 MBPS. Recently, the download speed of the Xfinity Blast Pro increased again from the previous 105 MBPS to 150 MBPS. The speeds have literally tripled in less than 2 months at no extra charge which is incredible!

Some people, like myself, may even see speeds higher than the advertised 150 MBPS. According to http://www.speedtest.net/, my download speeds peak at around 177 MBPS (with my upload speed at around 12 MBPS). By default though, I wasn't seeing those types of speeds and most people will have to do a few things to get those speeds.

I actually had some troubles getting my computer to take advantage of the update and I literally invested nearly 2 hours researching what the issue was. Eventually it came down to my Ethernet cable but I obtained a bunch of other useful information which I've placed into a thread here: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=90711

Rasenganfan2 : I don't know if this applies to everyone but my account doesn't have an official bandwidth cap. It use to be at 250 GB per a month but they claim there's none at the moment. However, I've heard that if you exceed a certain limit (not sure what that limit is), they may slow down your internet connection or look into what you're downloading which could result into your account being suspended if you're downloading illegal stuff.

Nice! Hopefully they roll that out nationwide. My brother and his fiancé are still stuck with the cap... oh how I pity them. I prefer my slower internet without cap to their much faster internet with

Rasenganfan2 : I'd hope that hidden limit is high because my average monthly usage is around 300 GB a month. Most of that is from streaming (my kids stream their educational shows, my wife and I stream movies once in a while, I stream YouTube often, etc), online gaming, active Remote Desktop Connections, etc. Actually I have no idea how we use up that much bandwidth each month because I really don't download that much stuff and I haven't used a torrent in years.

Most "hour long" TV shows weigh in around 200-300mb at 1080p, from what little I've seen. Dunno the proper size of a "half hour" show, but it's pretty safe to assume it's no more than 150mb at 1080p. You'd be surprised how much that adds up, though. My brother and soon to be sis-in-law usually use like 200-240GB a month, and they don't exactly have much time off. She has the weekends and he has random days because he works in retail, leaving their place empty most of the time. Only thing I can figure is it's because they play an MMO together (Final Fantasy XIV ftw) while occasionally streaming something from Netflix

I'd been paying for 50mbps as well (and averaging 53-61mbps download speed), but our bill went up from $67 to $87 recently. However, it looks like my speed went way up as well, so I guess I won't complain about the extra charge. Thanks for the heads up on this! If only my upload speed were better, I could move my anime seedbox to a local server and save some money, but oh well.
