Wow, it finally happened. I'm glad I recently decided to start asking questions there, because if I didn't, I would've never had the chance.

So, will another user be getting an ask anything in this forum then? If so, then who?

I'm excited to see one of the oldest, most decorated threads finally hit that magical milestone, and I'm even more excited to see what comes next.

Sheesh, how many of the total posts were just you answering the questions? I see some users getting a thousand posts in one forum which is pretty rare, but you might have gotten thousands of posts just in this thread alone thanks to all of the activity that it has had over the years. Congrats on this. So what's going to happen now?

Honestly I'm not sure that I'm done having an ask anything thread. A big part of the reason why I closed it at 10,000 was to get it out of the way. It takes up so much space in this forum that I felt like it needed to go soon and the push to 10,000 was a good excuse to close it. I'm not done answering questions. I've done it for 10 years now and I don't see a reason to stop.

However, I also want to give someone else a chance. How would I make that decision though? There are already a bunch of people who have ask anything threads in the various rented forums. I don't think any of them need one. Everyone but triune of the global+ has (or has had) one. Some of the locals do too I believe. How would I even start picking someone to take this over? I simply don't know which is why I haven't made a decision one way or the other.

Aww . Just as I was getting to know you better and see that we share many political ideas. It was fun though; I hope I can see more of you in forums so we can share ideas.

zanderlex : I posted more than 4,000 times in that thread. It's a giant part of my total post count. That took 10 years though so on average 400 times a year or a bit over 1 time per day. That's really not that much when you look at it that way. Obviously there were busier times but it still took 10 years to hit the milestone.

And like I said to gamer - I don't know what comes next.

Whoa, didn't expect to see that thread get to 10k replies before the TdV ended. Seems I underestimated everyone.

Answering questions might have become a habit for you, after doing it for so long. Also, it was a good excuse to catch up to Leggy in posts, so I clearly see you continuing the Ask Anything, probably in another forum.

About the people who might get an Ask Anything after you, you're right in that almost all rented forum owners besides the global+ except tRIUNE have or have had one. Choosing a well-known member that hasn't had one is difficult... unless you want to re-open what Randy started for whoever knows what reason some time ago.

Well it's not like you need to make the decision soon right? You don't really have to make one until you get the right idea and until then, it wouldn't really matter if there was nothing there.


Maybe try that thing that play tried before? Something like an AMA spotlight where users get ask threads for a while or something else like that?

Amazing! To see a thread reach such longevity, it's fantastic dude. Keep it real, and hopefully you find another way to keep yourself and the masses entertained with good grace and smoothness like that ask anything. Here's to me getting an ask anything next, yeah? I'd love that! After all, I've been haunting for almost four years...

It's actually really sad to see that thread finally come to an end. Almost as long as vizzed has been around, that thread has been around. That thread was created about a month after this current vizzed board launched and it's probably one of the only threads that were still open that had an ID number less than 1000. The thread was so legendary that it spawned tons and tons of similar threads. I'm kinda disappointing that I didn't reply in it more but I was fortunate enough to have read a lot of the questions and answers while it was up.

Time for some fun facts about that thread:
-It has the 2nd most replies of any thread (Corrupt-A-Wish! has 11,363)
-Before it was closed, it was 1 of 7 threads with an ID less than 1000 that were still active (1 of those threads is in a private forum, another is in a secret forum so maybe those 2 don't count)
-It has the 16th most amount of likes of any thread (it deserves way more though so step it up you guys and at least like the first post of that thread)
-It has the 6th most views of any thread (3rd most if you don't count threads made by me)
-It had the most legit total words of any thread with a total of 361,599 words (actually the most is Three Word Game with 1,048,876 words but that doesn't count since it's one of those spam threads where you add words to the previous post so there's a lot of copying and pasting)

Keep in mind that there are 90,000+ threads on vizzed so when you consider that, those stats are incredible. I'd be willing to bet that the thread is in the top 100 most replied to threads out of all forums on the entire internet. I did a quick search of a few big forums that I could find and didn't see anything with more replies. Most forums don't stay up long enough to achieve such a milestone and users rarely stick around a single forum that long to pull it off.

Anyways, congrats on that awesome achievement. I hope it gets voted for in the Vizzed Awards this year

Davideo7 : yeah, there was a part of me that was pretty sad to close it. It has been part of my Vizzed identity for 10 years now. Hard to see it go. I doubt there are many threads that have stayed open this long and gotten as much activity either.

Honestly, if it didn't take up as much space as it does I would probably leave it open but I feel bad making the top of this forum so large with a single thread. I'm also torn about whether to open it back up (maybe somewhere else) or remake it or what.

I like those facts. I knew it was one of the oldest threads still open and only 6 others are open along with it.

I'm getting a mixed reaction about closing the thread. I've heard from quite a few people that they want it open again. Others are hopeful for a chance to have their own ask anything thread. And I'm torn about whether I want to stop altogether or keep the thread going. We'll see. I still haven't decided and I don't know if I will before the week is out.

geeogree : If your concern was it taking up a lot of space, I plan to make it so that it doesn't show all of the pages of a thread when I migrate the forum pages to the new code. Hopefully this will take place in the upcoming month.

My opinion is this, people who are just hopeful for a chance to have their own, aren't likely to realize the impact your thread has had on the greater whole of Vizzed.

As someone who longed for their own AA for around a year before getting one, I can sympathize with them, in a way.

Maybe you can start a new AA where you and a designated user (for that month) answer questions (similar to the spotlight idea). Allowing you to continue to answer questions, while also giving other people a chance to answer some of their own, while continuing the legacy of your thread, and allowing the 10,000 reply AMA to die out.

Davideo7 : well, that might change my decision. I was under the impression that you weren't going to make that change but I remember reading that a long time ago.

Glad to know about it though. At least I have all the information I need to make my decision.

I never got to ask you anything... like what colors you like and pets you have for the 100th time... and if you were a boy or a girl who knew my grandson's name... not that I forgot or anything...
