Would you date someone with tattoos?

Personally,
How do you feel about them?
Do you have any?
If so, what and where?

-I love Tim Burton inspired tattoos- Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride, Nightmare before Christmas and I would not be against dating someone with tattoos- to a certain extend.

I have one tattoo. A green and gold "G" in the form of a Superman symbol on my upper left arm. Above the sleeve line. A few are ok, but I think that it's unattractive on women generally. I wouldn't not date someone who had one. I just prefer the natural look I guess. Not into any sort of piercing either. Life hurts enough. lol Really though, unless it's easily concealable like mine, it's a bad career move.

Ferdinand :

I agree. Career wise it should be easily covered. In my case, I have one tattoo on the right side of my hip, stars.
No way to see it unless I showed it.

Pain wise, I don't mind it. I don't have any extra piercings- not good for a career.
I wouldn't want to date someone with a banner like tattoo on his forehead- those types of tattoos.

I've never been a big fan of tattoos. I find many of them make people look worse and not better. Obviously that's not always true but most of the time that's all I see. I prefer bare skin to marked up skin.

I have seen some nice tattoos on girls before but more often than not they just have the tramp stamp on their lower back and that is so unattractive to me. Pick something classy not trashy.

geeogree :

I don't like those trashy tattoos on females or males at all.

I do know of people that have tattoos in that area to cover up scars and that I am all up for. However, personally, I wouldn't place one there. I just don't think it would look good overall. But, I have seeing people with great tattoos in that area that works!

So, you're right it depends on the taste behind it.

I would have to say no. Because it depends on how people like where their tattoos on their body it could be on their back or a big one on their arm. I am sure there are some out there who are mature enough to know of how they should have their tattoos, when thinking of other people. So that it wouldn't scare them to death. People like that I do tend to like while others can go overboard....

I personally wouldn't mind, as long as there's a meaning behind it. There's people who uses a tattoo as a reminder of someone important, or has some symbols that have a special meaning for them. In those cases, I can understand it.

Also, as has been stated, even if they have a meaning it's better if they can be easily covered. One of my male friends got his racing number on his left wrist, so it can be covered with ease (and no, he's not a pro racer, but he just loves that number).

I dislike people who have meaningless tattoos, and besides earrings I also greatly dislike piercings. In my opinion, it ruins your natural beauty, even if you lack it (like in my case).

*Only* on the opposite sex? You are restrictive .

Anyway as long as he does not look like Tommy Lee I would not mind dating a guy with tattoos. Some of then are great pieces of art and can enhance a person's features. Of course, the rest of his persona must be enjoyable too.

EX Palen :

I like meaningful tattoos. I hate tattoos that are more of an advertisement than anything else. Example: Cadillac, McDonalds. Gosh just pointless. I like certain piercings though but, as long as it does not disrupt your overall look.

janus :

Oh, good catch I'll edit that if possible. You know I won't lie, I have seeing both males and females that are tatted a lot and somehow they pull it off. I personally, don't know that I could but, then again I'm an adult worried about keeping my career intact and not getting stuck with sucky jobs. But, yes personality is key. To be honest, I don't care so much about looks anymore. I have seeing gorgeous people that lack every aspect of a personality and long run become just a burden to deal with. I will choose personality over looks.

Eniitan :

Yes, the place of the tattoo is just as important as the tattoo itself. And should keep in mind how you want others to perceive you because it can really close some doors in the long run.

I guess I'd date someone with tattoos, but I'm not exactly a huge fan of them myself. Some are tasteful, but I honestly just prefer the look of skin to ink.

I don't have any, and never plan to.

legacyme3 : I feel the same way about piercings. I do not think I will ever get one. Tattoos, however, are a different story. I don't mean to look like a walking graffiti wall, but haing one or two on my shoulders would be a good idea

So for the most part, most be tasteful, there's actually people out there that still embrace natural beauty , and position of the tattoo and size matters most. Good insights.
