If Mark Whalberg is really in it for the long haul, then he's going to be busy for many years to come because apparently, all of the Transformers writers put their heads together and came up with enough material for 2 more movies!

Wait no, I was wrong..... FOUR MORE MOVIES.

That's right, they already have the plots and everything set aside for Transformers 5 through 8, which could easily last us another decade so who knows what else they will come up with by the time this batch of ideas runs dry.

I'm ok with the series, and the last one was my favorite, but I think this may be just a tad much.

Interesting. I knew that they would stretch it out, but I never thought they would do it to this degree. I wouldn't mind continuing to watch the series so long as the movies aren't four hours long. All of the TF movies are generally lengthy, but the last one was a bit much. By the time the Dinobots came along, I really wasn't that excited since it was already more than three hours in.

Nonetheless, I can't say I'm all that surprised, they can do a lot with the upcoming movies since the TF universe is so vast. They should introduce the other Primes along with Unicron, or even Tidal Wave from TF energon. I think they said they wanted to make like 2 other series to go along with the mark whalberg one. I'm not sure if those series' would be separate than the 4, or if the 4 they are talking about are like 5 and 6, and 1 and 2 of another series.

pfft, man they sure know how to milk a franchise. As far as the last one goes, that was probably my least favorite of the Transformer movies. I've got a feeling that the next few in line aren't going to be that great either. I'll probably just wait for them all to come to Redbox before watching them.

Nevermind, I just looked up the numbers. The 4 movies cost nearly 1 billion to make but have grossed about 3+ billion worldwide. I'm still not sure why. The movies weren't that good.

zanderlex : yeah, that's basically all it is. It's just disappointing to see movies like these make so much money but movies that are actually well made or have great stories get ignored. So disappointing to see this trend.

If the movies improved I wouldn't care but I think the first one was the best and they've gotten worse since then.

The TF series needs to be laid to rest. After the first one,they just kept screwing up. Michael Bay should never be allowed to direct or do ANYTHING with a movie ever again. He has killed 2 franchises.

Now for those that want an animated movie that was better than the live action CGI crap,look on You Tube for Transformers 1986 movie.

And to answer the question there are 4 movies currently.

One. The animated one I saw in the theaters in the 80s. That one is awesome. The new ones stink. Not even sorry to say it. I was so disappointed but in retrospect I should have known.
