I have a question.
What is your favourite Kirby game?

I'm looking for people to vote on this poll that I created, as I want to do a little marathon where I speedrun SEVEN Kirby games in one sitting, on Twitch.

It would all be any%, and the Kirby games I'd speedrun...

  • Kirby's Dream Land (GB)

  • Kirby's Adventure (NES)

  • Kirby's Dream Land 2 (GB)

  • Kirby Super Star (SNES)

  • Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SNES)

  • Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land (GBA)

  • Kirby & the Amazing Mirror (GBA)

Those are the games I'd speedrun, in that specific order.
However, I want to do a poll and ask: what Kirby games out of that list do you think is the best? Which is your favourite?
If you're going to vote, please vote here: http://www.strawpoll.me/5584794
You can say why you choose that particular game, and you can only vote on a single game so please take caution on that. And I don't think it's possible to revote after voting to change your vote.

It HAS to be one of those 7. To be completely honest, none of these are my favourite, Kirby's Return to Dream Land is my favourite out of ALL Kirby games. But Kirby & the Amazing Mirror is a close second.

Why the poll? The one with the most vote, well, wins. I can't say what it is; it's a surprise.

For any more information about the marathon (or about the whole thing in general), go to my Twitch account: http://www.twitch.tv/catlynat

all the information is there (or nearly all), and if you have any questions about the marathon, ask here. ^-^
(You can also PM me on Vizzed and/or Twitch, but I'll still include your question on this thread and/or on my Twitch page, unless you truly don't want your question appear here. If you don't, it's best to PM and ask there, and not forget saying that you don't want your question to appear here.)

No, this is NOT for advertising. I just want at least one person to vote on the poll, and my Twitch account is new so that's another thing, meaning that just via my Twitch, I wouldn't get many votes. Thus this threads exists. To have votes.

Anyways, thank you so much if you're voting
I appreciate it. <3 I guess I'm gone now lol.

Gosh, which one to pick?
I mean, I love Dreamland 1 and Adventure, but I think Nightmare triumphs the latter since it's a remake of Adventure for (arguably) my favorite Nintendo handheld (Sorry 3DS; It's not you, it's me!). Then there's Amazing Mirror, and the forest/nature area theme from that one has become a staple of the past summer vacation for me for some reason. Plus the game is pretty good. And then there's Super Star, which I love.
Dreamland 2 is probably my least favorite out of these, but not by much at all, and only because I haven't played it that much. And I've never played Dreamland 3, although I should probably do so soon.

So probably:
1. Super Star
2. Nightmare
3. Adventure
4. Amazing Mirror
5. Dreamland 1
6. Dreamland 2
7. Dreamland 3 (Never played)

Honestly, my personal favorite out of that list is Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. I think it has the best soundtrack out of those games, and I found it to be the most enjoyable out of the bunch.

I would have to say Kirby & The Amazing Mirror is my favorite out of these options.  I think I like that one just because I first played Kirby on a handheld so I just feel more at home with the handheld Kirby games.  Kirby Super Star comes at a close second purely because that's how Game Grumps began and I'm a sucker for nostalgia.  I'm gonna give Kirby's Dreamland 1 an honorable mention as it was the first Kirby game I ever played.

I'd say Kirby's Dream Land 3, I really liked the cutesy artstyle and powerups in the game. Surely, the gameplay was kind of lacking and the music wasn't.... I don't know, Kirby-ish? But still, I liked it as a younger person and I still like it now.

I only played Kirby nightmare in dreamlike or the amazing mirror, but if I had to pick, It'll be nightmare in dreamland. The gameplay was slightly more convenient in my opinion.

I'm gonna have to go with the game that started it all for me, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.

Before I say anything, let me throw out a wild disclaimer: I know that I hold a LOT of bias towards this game for multiple reasons that are purely subjective and are perfect reasons for someone to, likewise, hate the game. So I know not everyone (or anywhere close to everyone) will agree with what I have to say.

Now, with that out of the way...

The faster-paced gameplay. The awesome open-ended adventure. The fascinating multiplayer (although having laughable AI if you're too unfortunate to be able to play this game with friends). Compelling areas. Fun abilities (including the exclusive (not including the Anniversary Collection's challenge) Smash ability). Need I say more?

Now, I'm going to make a bold statement that I know isn't the case with 99.9 percent of people on this Earth; Kirby and the Amazing Mirror isn't just my favorite Kirby game or platformer of all time, but my favorite GAME of all time, period.

The pace of the game is just right. The midbosses and boss battles are fun, as always. The music, aesthetic, and presentation are also all superb. Is the game without problems? Absolutely not! No game is perfect, and I won't claim this to be the exception. But, the cons are so minuscule to me, that I could barely note them.

As someone who's currently practicing an Any% speed run of this game, I can also vouch for its replayability, which hasn't died out on me for over a decade, not even once. You can always find a new way to go about, and a different order of paths to make your way around and beat the game in just as fast a time as another route. (Also, Wheel is OP for speed running this game)

It's biggest set-back has to be the hardware it was on. The multiplayer was just a little too soon. If this game were remade, or even just ported with today's multiplayer capabilities, that'd be the ultimate wish, one might say, from my gamer self.

But enough on my ramblings, as I oh-so-often create before realizing that I'm creating said ramble. And, by that point, it's too late...

...Welp.

I would have to go with Kirby's Adventure.  It was my first introduction to the Kirby Franchise and it introduced me to my favorite Kirby enemy,  Meta Knight.

I would have to say Kirby's Dreamland. It's probably the only one I used to find myself playing alot out of the others.

Out of that list, Kirby Super Star would be my favorite. However, if we were allowed the choice of all the Kirby games in existence, my favorite would be Kirby's Return to Dreamland for the Wii.
