Anyone here excited for the new Muppets show coming up on ABC, premiering Sept 22 (Tues)? I'm super stoked! Always been a fan of the Muppets. They can bring a lot of humor to their shows and movies even though they are just puppets. They always bring a lot of star power as well and the actors always are good sports in acting in their as well, not really thinking they are for kids. I'm excited to see how they'll do this time and I hope it will last.

Well the muppets is okay... I mean I would probably watch the new one maybe. It just doesn't interest me as much as it used too.

I didn't see it lol if it was on my tv. Then again, I did used to love the muppets my most fav character would be what youshi said of that's the main reason I watched the show in the first place. The other characters are ok, but I prefer Kermit the frog.

Joel's Dad Kermit was always my favorite Muppet. Him and probably Gonzo. Along with Staltler and Waldorf. Those guys are the best!

But as much as I love the Muppets, I don't have high hopes for this show. Since the only two commercials I saw both pointed out the unoriginality of how its being made, and sex jokes. It just....It looks like it's one of shows that will try to be clever, but will fall flat. It could be good, and I wish it will be good. But seeing as how the """"""""geniuses""""""""" behind Modern Family are involved. I can only see a train wreck.

I never liked the Muppets and most likely never will

I don't mind checking this out when I get the chance. I use to watch the movies when I was a kid. My favorite being Muppet Treasure Island. 

I heard Kermit got a new girlfriend. I'm not surprised that she's a pig. 

I loved what I saw of it. I'm so glad it's not for kids now because it's more toward the kids that grew up with them (so adults now). That really pathetic group One Million Mom's is trying to get it off the air also, so that's just more incentive for me to watch it. Kermit has a thing for pigs.

So...I only saw the first episode and...Boy, that was a nice gut punch to the childhood. Yes, yes, I know the Muppets made a lot of the same kinds of jokes back in the day, but this was done a lot differently.

It was essentially the worst bits of The Office, Parks & Rec, and 30 Rock mashed together, then the Muppets were crudely shoved into it. First off, the very first joke was one of the muppets drawing a part of the male anatomy on the whiteboard. Then second all, Kermit's new girlfriend looks like a deviantart OC. Third, there was a pretty long scene where a literally-who celebrity beats up one of the Muppets as "comedy". Another bit, which I admittingly laughed at once, was this really odd subplot in which Fozzie has a human girlfriend. And her dad is racist against bears(?). It felt really out of place. The confession cam segments led to nothing, I mean, it never has. But you'd think they would do something other than mock the fact they are doing it. Sure, you can be "HILARIOUS and meta!" How clever! But mocking the fact your show is terrible, in fact, doesn't stop making your show terrible. It's just waving the fact you could have done better, but are lazy and appealing to the most uninspired, by the numbers, lowest common denominator format in front of our faces.

It just left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth. Why was this made? Who does this appeal to? This has nothing to do with the original shows or movies. Heck, I think the "jokes" in this show are supposed to be the fact they are puppets. Henson would be ashamed of this mockery of his work.

I'm not that excited about this. I watched few episodes and I don't like Muppets that much.

Is it anything like their previous show made about 20 years ago? They did have some good shows (Cindy Crawford was the best!) but it was overall... meh. They muppet skits were just bland... or maybe it was just bad French translation.

I don't have abc on my TV since my cable provider made things too expensive and we had to get rid of some channels. So I hadn't really heard of this show until just now. I've always liked the Muppets so I'm glad to see that they can get another show.

I hope it isn't as terrible as the first episode that A user of this described, that sounds like a show I really wouldn't want to watch.

I'm with you bro. I'm super-stoked as well. Especially since Jim Henson had been a huge part of my later childhood years. Alas, I do not have ABC, but since ABC is owned by Disney maybe I'll get a chance to see reruns there.

I wasn't a huge fan of the show, but I always loved how Waldorf and Statler heckled Fozzy for his terrible jokes. xD
