I can't believe my time in Canada is almost
over already!

A user of this :

If you two don't want to be summoned to future posts I make in this thread,
please tell me! I just decided to summon you this time because it's sort of a
continuation of my "I'm Going to Canada!" thread (which is closed
now), and you asked me to summon you to posts in that one, so yeah.

Anyway, this summer vacation has been a blast!!! Unlike last year, I've gotten
reasonable amounts of summer work to do. Instead of, like 50 pages of math, I
only had 15 to do (and I've finished all of them)! I also had to read one PART
of an already short book (done that, too), and do two projects about it. I
haven't done the projects yet, but they'll be easy, haha. School starts on the 18th
(lucky me!), but I think they accept summer work handed in as long as it's in
the first month of school.

I had a wonderful time! I got to see lots of family members, including my baby
cousin, and my other cousin's baby (wow!), haha! That makes my grandparents
great-grandparents! I didn't see them this summer, but apparently another
relative also had a baby this year! It really is the year of babies, at least
in my family xP!

There were five big parties - my big sister's 23rd birthday, my grandpa's 75th
birthday (children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren only), my grandpa's
75th birthday (friends and extended family also invited), my grandparents' 52nd
anniversary, and my little cousin's 3rd birthday, which, to the surprise of my
twin sister and I, also celebrated OUR birthday! We got our own little
chocolate cakes. One of them had a "1" candle on it, and the other
had a "4" candle on it . That was a happy surprise! Our real
birthday is on the 14th, but we had talked about how we wished we could spend
one birthday in Canada because we never do, and that was a nice little thing
they did.

My dad took my twin sister and I on a little one-night trip to St. Andrews, a
little city a few hours' drive away, and we went whale-watching! It was so fun!
We saw porpoises and seals and, of course, whales! In our excitement, my sister
and I swore in Arabic (oops) because we thought no one (besides our dad, who
knows a bit, heheh) would understand. Buuut... one of the ladies noticed, and
guess what? Turns out she spoke Arabic, too ! Haha, that was kind of
embarrassing, but she just smiled and asked us whether we spoke it, said she
did too, and introduced us to three-year-old Ahmad, who would not stop asking for
high fives and fist bumps. Our new friend was so thrilled to see other people
who spoke Arabic (and the kid was so attached to us) that she even asked if she
could take our picture with him, and we said yes, heheh! The guide was also
really nice. Heck, ALL the people in that town were so nice! My dad let a lady
in a car leave a parking lot before him, and she smiled, according to him,
"like she had just found her long lost child" or something! Haha! The
guy who checked us into the little hotel was really friendly and gave us some
tips on where to eat and stuff. It was a very nice stay!

Today, we went to Sackville and spent the day with our big sister, who we'll
also have to wait until next summer to see. We went for a walk in a park, ate
some food at a little restaurant, whose owner ALSO turned out to speak Arabic,
and was actually Lebanese, too! We asked was his name was, and he said it was
Fakhr. And since people here don't pronounce the "kh" the same way we
do... The word sounds like something entirely different . "So," he
said, "I just go by 'Dave.'" We all laughed so hard!

I finished most of the packing earlier tonight. Tomorrow we're going to have
our last supper at our uncle's house. We're barbecuing steak! After tomorrow,
he's going to drive us to the airport, and off we go!

I still can't believe I'm going back to Lebanon after tomorrow! My feelings
about this are mixed, you could say. It's going to be bittersweet. I'm sad that
summer is over and I won't be seeing my family here until next year, but I'm
happy that I get to see all my friends and family back in Lebanon after nearly
three months! That includes this cute, little guy:

greenluigi :

He might not be so "little" anymore O_o... Earlier this year, I was
taller than you, then you caught up and became a little bit taller. Maybe
you're WAY taller now! One thing's for sure - I sure didn't grow this summer
. I know because my grandpa measured my height earlier today and marked it on
a wall downstairs like we do every summer, and I'm still at just above 5'2 and
a half :L. Usually I grow a lot in the summer! Maybe I'm done growing, though.
Oh, well, haha. He and my grandma left for a little trip to St. Andrews, too,
but after us. They left earlier today, and I won't be seeing them before I
leave, so we said our goodbyes!

I drew a lot this summer! I didn't watch much TV except for Fullmetal
Alchemist, which my big sister introduced me to! We watched a few of the first
episodes of the 2003 series, and we just began season 3 of Brotherhood. I LOVE
it! Then there's Amazing Race Canada, which I watched every single episode of
with my grandma, but I won't be here long enough to watch the end . She
promised she'd record it, though, I promised my big sister I wouldn't continue
Fullmetal Alchemist without her, and I promised my grandma I wouldn't continue
Amazing Race Canada without her, haha!

I'm so excited!

(The format sucks because I meant to post this yesterday, but it was time for bed, so this was copy-pasted from a Word document xP.)

I'm glad you've had such positive experiences!  Now you'll take them home with you.  So the next time you visit Canada you'll have something to look forward to!

Your summer sounded amazing! I hope your next trip to Canada will be just as awesome. Plus all that homework, pfft, that's like...almost a day's worth of work. I wish more schools were like yours. lol Anyway, I'm glad you had tons of fun, Kimmy!

What a trip that was I've been whale-watching before and I enjoyed it. It must have been nice to be at all of those parties

I hope you'll remember this trip for a long time and enjoy your time back at home!

PacmanandMariofan : By the way, Pac, I recall you asking me to summon you to threads like this that I make. Haha, so much for that idea! Thank my lousy memory . I'll try to remember from now on, though! That is, if you still want me to!

geeogree :

A user of this :

I'm back home! My uncle was kind enough to come with us for the two-hour drive to the Halifax airport (we needed someone to drive my grandpa's car back), and I made sure to savor my last Tim Hortons Iced Capp of the summer, heheh!

The TV things on the Air Canada flight weren't working, but it was actually a stroke of good luck - to apologize, they gave everyone on the flight a card with a code thing we could enter to get a discount next time we fly with them! That was so cool! I'll take a discount on a flight over not being able to use the entertainment system any day xD! Besides, I had an Archie comic to read, and Jelly Bellies to eat, so I was ok .

We spent around 3 hours at the London Heathrow airport and then took the plane back to Lebanon! This time it was MEA. The entertainment system was working, but I spent most of my time drawing, anyway . That's kind of ironic, because I actually always preferred MEA's entertainment system since the games actually worked xD!

I literally ran to my mom at the airport in Lebanon! That was the only time I wasn't embarrassed to be hugged and kissed by her, like, eight hundred times in public . The cab driver was nice, too .

GOD, IT'S SO HOT, THOUGH, HAHA!

I only heard about two negative things. The electricity problem is pretty bad (but it should get better soon), and even though we've subscribed to the generator, our street is pretty dark at night . Second, my mom's friend got beat up by some thugs in Berlin .  The important thing is that he's ok now!

Anyway, that aside, it's so good to be back!!! My entire sleep was uninterrupted, but it's 8:00 AM, and I'm already up and writing . It shouldn't take too long for the jet lag to go away, though ! I'm used to this. I'm a pretty good traveler, heheh.

Anyway, I'M GOING TO SEE GREEN TODAY!!! YAAAAAAY!!!!!!

greenluigi: BALD GUY

EDIT: HOLY CRAP I FORGOT IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY

EDIT 2: Oops, summon fail.

Glad you had a good time. Prayers for a safe trip back home. Also prayers that you and your family will be safe from all the violence going on in the middle east right now. Blessings in Christ

Yes, I'd still like to be summoned to your threads It's OK that your memory wasn't good enough, it often happens to me too I've completely forgotten to summon you to most of my threads lately, so we both failed XD

I'm glad to hear about your safe travels, and the discount! It's amazing when teenagers aren't embarrassed with their parents being such huggers with them in public, that's nice Sorry to hear about your mom's friend, but at least he's fine now!

greenluigi : Fixing your cousin's summon fail.
