So apparently we've been wrong all this time? I was going through bing and I saw one of the little suggestion searches at the bottom. I had no idea what it was about but decided to check it out and made a startling discovery, that the T in Voldemort is silent.

It's just one little letter, but it's pretty insane actually.

Wow, that does makes a difference!  What if...we started calling Voldemort's real name "Om Marvolo Riddle"...

tgags123 : That's probably just because we're so used to it. Pronouncing something like vol de mor makes it sound more like one of those old foreign villians.

That's good to know but I'm still going to say Voldemort with the T sound. It's been so many years so I refuse to change that. xD

That's so strange to me. Voldemort sounds better, and I've become so accustomed to calling him that, so I don't know if I can force myself to say his name without the T at the end.

What's next? Are we going to find out that Harry's name is actually pronounced Arry without the H? It's definitely intriguing to find out about this now, but I don't know how people will react to this change. Most of them probably won't change from the way they pronounced his name before.

Honestly, what surprises me the most is how many people didn't know this already. I'm not an avid Harry Potter fan or know anything about the French language but I pronounced it like this from the beginning. I guess the only reason I am writing this is because when my friends and I talk about Harry Potter or make jokes about Harry Potter (Which is mostly what we would be doing) I always say it correct and they try to correct me saying the wrong pronunciation and it is hilarious to me. And about the movies I think they didn't change the name in those because with the spelling, it could confuse viewers seeing the spelling that way in books and stuff but hearing it pronounced differently than its spelled. Especially if they don't understand the language.

And the Harry > Arry thing is hilarious too.
But, wouldn't that make Hermione > Ermione?

And I agree. I think some characters actually call them that. Though, I only watched the first three.
