I wanted to know if anyone here has ever felt that being on this site was pointless one time.Like you tried to accomplish something and no matter how hard you try you just can't seem to get anywhere and just feel like quitting the site for good?

Final Weapon : Well, I for one, think this is a great site, but on the other hand my brother. Now that is a totally different ballpark. Us being twins and all. You would think that twins think alike and have same interests, but that is not so with me and my brother. While I enjoy this site very much, my brother totally loathes this site. Well not just this site, but every online site that deals with communication across the Internet. He thinks conversation across websites such as these with other people is a very pointless idea to have to begin with though all he likes about this site is playing in the retro game room, but now since our computers have problems downloading the Retro Game Room plugin, I just go on this site and talk to people. My brother has stopped coming to this site all together and tells me every time he catches me on this site to shut it off and spend some quality time playing console or system games on consoles and systems that we have like the 3DS and PlayStation 4 instead of talking to people, but I do not listen to it because I on the other hand think you can get as much entertainment talking to people on sites like these than talking to people face-to-face in your vicinity. What do you think? Can people have just as much fun and be happy talking to people on the Internet than talking to people in person or do you think there is more happiness talking to people in person than on the Internet? Oh and also yes sometimes I feel like quitting the site because my computers are very slow and sometimes the computer I am using does not load the page completely so I have to exit the tab and reopen the tab up to hopefully get lucky on the second try or chance, or third try or chance, or fourth try or chance. See what I mean! Every time I log into vizzed my computer has problems loading and I can't do any actions until it loads the page completely, so yeah sometimes I feel like quitting the site.

Not to me at all. Every time I come on the site, I usually find something to do unless my internet stabs me in the back.

Not a single time. Be it playing games or following some threads, I always have something to do when visiting the site. Only if real life keeps me busy from spending any time in here would I think on leaving the site, and I don't see that happening in several years.

Eh, in the end all entertainment is a waste of time if you think about it. That's the huge gag of it all though: life is pointless, and we never acknowledge that because it's disturbing. Really I figure God is all that amounts to anything in life, because everything else will pass away with us when we die.

Have a family? When you're gone you won't anymore.
Have a huge trophy/achievement count on your PlayStation/XBox? When you die your record will too.
Have a fancy car? It'll be gone one day as well.

Basically what I'm saying is that yes, Vizzed is pointless, but everything you do for enjoyment is equally pointless. I know it sounds depressing, but it's the truth, and it's actually quite liberating. The Bible says it well when it teaches us to live for God and do whatever makes us happy "for that alone shall abide with you". Do what's right and have fun. The end.


But I love Vizzed, so... :3

As for your struggles, hang in there and just enjoy the site. Everything else will happen when it's ready to.

Eirinn : Wow, that is depressing but I think you just contradicted yourself here. On one hand you say life is pointless but on the other you say that we should live for God? Why should I live for God if my life is already pointless? And didn't God create man in the first place? Why would He give us a life that is pointless? That doesn't make sense... or maybe I just don't understand what you are trying to say here. I can understand that this site would be pointless to some ( if not, most )... but LIFE? Really?

Final Weapon : Yeah I feel that way almost all the time when I'm on this site. Been trying to get that Trusted Member status since I started using this site. I'm not sure if I'm getting anywhere but I keep trying for reasons unknown, pretty much. I would like to be able to create my own layouts and stuff but it's not really that important to me anymore. Actually, this site would be pointless to me if it didn't offer the Huge selection of retro games that are available for download. That is the main reason why I joined this site in the first place.  

Kruzer : lol Sorry. Yeah the problem is that I tried to condense a larger thought into a brief post.

Basically what I'm saying is the same thing Ecclesiastes says: life is all vanity. The point in living for God is that what we do for Him is eternal (win a soul, they'll be in the new kingdom forever), whereas everything we do for ourselves or even others is temporal and will pass away with us if not before.

If I'm still not making sense, let me know and I can send a full explanation via PM to clarify. I'm also contemplating posting a thread about it on here somewhere.

What is "pointless" is hard to say. Coming on vizzed gives most users some form of recreation or relaxation, and also a sense of belonging to a community. I don't think those things are pointless.

I've felt that way before, but not often. Most times I've went onto vizzed, I had plenty of things to do on vizzed to keep me happy all day. Now that I'm a staff member I have even more things to do here

I don't believe being on vizzed is pointless unless you have no reason you want to be here. There are some times where I've taken a break from vizzed because I felt like I had nothing to do and I felt like I was wasting my time. When I came back from my break I had much more to do once again!

Eh, yeah.

Cause I am just on Vizzed so much, its kind of scary. Like, hours a day, day after day, but now its just a usual thing that I do, and I'm fine with it I guess  

Not even for a second. Although, I may have different experiences. My internet works fine-ish. I came here for the playing of the games, not so much the talking to the peoples. I do both, but I'm here mostly for the Retro Game Room. I don't find that my entertainment is pointless, if I'm happy, it's meaningful to me. Everyone has different standards. Oh, and also... PS1 games.

My apologies. Perhaps I shouldn't have gotten so philosophical in a thread that wasn't initially intended as such.

All I'm saying is pretty much what F. Starr said: if you have fun here then it's worth being here. And really, there are literally tens of thousands of games here (I think somewhere between 30,000 and 40,000) and probably hundreds of currently open threads, plus the chat room and a lot of nice people who you can meet, so yeah, if talking to friends and playing video games (or even playing games online with friends) is your kind of thing, then Vizzed is perfect.


Additionally I've seen you stating in a few threads that people don't like you or we've changed. Allow me to say that I can understand how you could feel this way if you lost some friends on here, but it isn't really that way, it's just the way you perceive it.

For example: I've never spoken with you, so you don't know if I'm worth talking to or not, and I can assure you I have not changed at all over the past few months. So why not just post around in some forum threads that interest you --be they forum games, video game discussions, or whatever else you're interested in-- and post around a bit. Get to know some new people and see if you don't find some awesome people to chat with. I know I've found a few myself.
