I can't really think of any myself but the fact crossed my mind, that there would well-be a close-to-infinite amount of Pokémon if they asked us, the gamers, to add Pokémon and Pokémon types to the database. So, here's the question:

What do you think would be a good new type to add the Pokémon games/shows/etc. Also, you can provide names for Pokémon, descriptions of the appearance of new Pokémon, and even new moves for the types if you wish.

You can provide any combination of the above list. I bet this will be fun, the possibilities are endless! Name away!

Well, I created a forum game here called Pokemon osmium and for that I created some new ones. The new type was steam, sort of the ultimate hybrid of water and fire and the legendary Pokemon is named Fogreum.

I've always thought the Shadow Pokemon introduced in Colosseum should have been a thing, even more when it's sequel showed us Shadow Lugia and a nice variety of Shadow attacks. It's not actually a new type, but it could be the birth of new species of Pokemon, in a similar but darker fashion to Mega Evolution. The big deal would be to differentiate between Shadow Rayquaza and Shiny Rayquaza

If there was another new type added to pokemon, I think a good choice would be gas type. I can't think of any other good ones. A good pokemon to make a gas type would be Weezing. You could make it be part poison, part gas. Other than that I can't think of any other good ideas. There are already so many great types.

I agree with ex. Shadow pokemon had the potential to actually be something. Than again, probably not. Too many disadvantages.

What about Time type? Moves that manipulate time? And Dialga would be a Time/Dragon type, the ultimate Time type Pokemon?

-------Edit-------
Move names like Time Warp and Wormhole sound cool, I guess....

berrykatsume : That actually doesn't sound too bad. And maybe make a space type counterpart to it with both types being super effective against each other.

I've always thought that a sound type pokemon would be a really easy one to do because there are already moves like howl, screech and boomburst. You could easily retype the useless normal type moves like growl, howl and screech to a sound type and then add like an extra effect or make them do damage.

There are also plenty of pokemon that could fill the role of sound types. Take Exploud for instance, as it stands, it is a normal type pokemon, yet its design is completely centered around sound and noise. This is just one example, it is easily doable for many other pokemon as well.

Razor-987 : RIP pixilate hyper voice on M.Gardevoir and Sylveon

But to be honest they should just add bird type already. According to Falkner he only uses bird type pokemon while they're all flying types. Makes a lot of sense.

Btw that was a joke, bird would be a horrible type idea.
