What are your thoughts on the upcoming web browser that will soon be introduced by Microsoft along with Windows 10? I just saw a few artiles on it today and I think it looks really cool and I'm excited about how it's supposed to be faster than Chrome and Firefox and how you can also take notes on the web pages.

Are you going to try this out or stick with another browser and what are some of the features that you like the most?

I'll wait a few months before testing out "Edge," it sounds interesting but Microsoft has a spotty record when it comes to releasing new products. Not to mention the fact this is the first browser they've released publicaly since IE... Definitely waiting until I see different reviews. I'll most likely stay with Firefox though, I like the browser.

I don't plan on trying out Microsoft Edge until a few months after its release. For now I really want to stick with Google Chrome since I've almost never had issues with it.

By the way, taking notes on the web pages sounds like it would really come in handy for me

zanderlex : I highly doubt Moneysoft will uninstall thier users favorite internet browsers, it would just be one more strike agaisnt them. At worst, Edge will set it itself as default browser, which means any HTML doc or internet link executed by a program or clicked on in a program will use Edge instead of FireFox. That wont affect me much since I use the taskbar icon for Firefox to access the internet. Besides, since Microsoft's Edge will be operating within the confines of cyber law the default browser can easily be reset. If it behaves like a virus, though, and stops users from resetting the default browser than thats another story.

I guess that makes sense. If it does work as a default browser, I might as well try it out for at least a bit instead of waiting for reviews of it. I'll give it a shot for a couple of days and if I don't like it I will go back to chrome from there.

Edge is definitely quite simplistic and useful with their tools. It also seems to be quite fast, as I compare it to Chrome. It seems to be made for tablets though, with all those note taking features, and it's just another typical internet browser, but simplier, so I'll still be using Chrome, but I will keep it as a secondary internet browser

Microsoft has never managed to wow me with anything they make. In fact I only run Windows on my computer because of the RGR. So no, I'll not be using Edge. Instead I'll probably go with Opera when I get the PC back up. Opera is fast enough and works fine in the RGR, and other pluses include: it isn't Firefox nor is it made by Google. lol

For now I am satisfied with Chrome. However my husband tells me that Edge is much quicker than Chrome, which he can not use with Windows 10 anyway. I might use it as backup one day.

So far it sounds like Edge is actually a pretty good internet browser. I find it hard to believe that it can be faster than Chrome but I'll probably be comparing them to see for myself after I get a Windows 10 laptop.
