I was just thinking how cool it would be to have something like this on Vizzed. I am always looking for a good poker game on the web, and one like this people would be able to bet their earned Viz.

One of the reasons why is because it does have some gambling and even know it's only using virtual money (viz), that can still create some problems, mostly related to little kids on here and there are anti-gambling parents out there that doesn't want their kid exposed in any kind of gambling, either with fake money or real money.

The other reason is that it might take some time for David to code in some of those poker games to bet on Viz that others bid on, and coding can be a pain at times.


So, personally, it don't sound bad to have on, but it will cause a lot of problems. I got to speak from a Staff point of view rather than a Personal point of view.

It's definitely an interesting thought. If it happens, though, it should probably be restricted to those who fit the requirements of the 'Geezer Corner' forum (25+). If the game is located there, then only those who are 25 or older could play, which would save everyone the moral hassle of kids being involved.

As for whether or not it's possible, it's actually really possible. It'd be similar to how Mafia was played, I'd think. The dealer would PM cards to everyone, and a thread be used for discussion, bets, and other aspects of the game.

There are other poker games here on vizzed in the retro room, so I don't see the problem. Just have a disclaimer that the game contains gambling. And I think for the most part, parents don't really give a crap about what games their kids play. If kids can play battlefield and watch walking dead, there shouldn't be a problem with poker.

Well, parents should care about what their kids watch/play and we should be doing what we can to have kids not be exposed to things like gambling until they're adults. I agree with mrfe that we should have limits for this if this happens.

Well I'm seventeen and I play at house games from time to time and play quite a lot on the internet. Truly, there is nothing wrong with gambling IMO unless you become addicted and can't stop. As I'm not 21 and would like access to this feature and I'm shore there are others on here that aren't 21 that would enjoy this I would really rather not restrict this to only the older folks.  Possibly a special forum that newbies or that those under the age of say 15 or 16 couldn't access would be more suitable.  IgorBird122 This wouldn't be illegal as we aren't betting anything of value which means that it isn't really gambling.

It's a decent suggestion, but considering david is pretty set on having this be a "Family Friendly" site, I really doubt it will happen.
